I really hoped the webinar would have reset investor expectations and given confidence that everything is on course.

The silence had been deafening so the drop was to some extent understandable. We've just had a great Q&A from the CEO with clarification on several points and the backing of a large US hedge fund.

As other's have pointed out, we are seeing some massive buys mopping up all the little PI/trader sells.

So frustrating watching the share price fall when it should, at worst, be stable.

Maybe I should turn off my filters - I seem to be missing out on all of this excellent investment advice!

MF, there's a clear pattern of daily falls on no news which I'm sure people are trying to capitalise on. Possibly one of the problems with always issuing an RNS at 7am!

If news were released at varied times, I don't think this would be happening. I hope Avacta and Cytiva release news simultaneously (not at 7am GMT) meaning the solid holders get rewarded and the traders miss the boat!

The picture as we seem to understand it would indicate that Sona will have an approved test before us, however Avacta will rapidly close the market share gap and then overtake Sona due to; Canadian Gov first dibs, manufacturing and distribution. Would you agree? Pure speculation of course.

Furthermore, lets not forget AS is still talking about 'other partners' and has been for some time.

The swabbing seems to be a problem regardless, but I imagine swabbing yourself would be very difficult as when done properly it is apparently very uncomfortable, if not painful. Your reflexes will therefore make this challenging at best.

Also, we did some digging and it's Medusa not MedUSA. The name isn't actually anything to do with medical or the USA. There is already a company registered at the same address (for some years) called Medusa, so Medusa-19 is just a play on that it seems.

I think most of us assumed it was a new name and could be MedUSA, turns out it's just a name they've been using for years.

Last time I looked at Sona their initial target was to produce 1million tests per week, so that's 52 million.

The Canadian Goverment has commited publicly to purchasing 1million tests per week... so that's some fairly easy maths.
It basically means none of those tests are leaving Canada any time soon.

100 million was mentioned, but as a longer term target.

Disclaimer: The above is correct to the best of my knowledge but haven't really looked at much Sona stuff for a couple of weeks and things may have progressed.

DM83 - Yes I completely agree, I expect us all to do very well regardless but being first would no doubt create a much greater rise in the share price.

IMO the factors which will ultimately govern market share are manfacturing and distribution capacity. The former will be affected by three things:

1) How difficult the tests are to make? (We understand affimers are a strong benefit in this regard)
2) What manufacturing is in place? (Sir Al has said they're working on this already)
3) How good is the distribution? (Sir Al has said Boohoo are making SIGNIFICANT investment in readiness so there won't be a delay)

I can't wait for the day I can finally Awacta myself. It will probably be a bit surreal to finally be holding the product!

I don't think there's any need to be first in terms of the amount we will sell. These tests will surely sell as fast as they can be produced. It will probably become one of the most purchased products in the world.

Tell me a sector which has a global mass market and only 1 company operating within that space? Even with smaller markets, you normally see multiple competitors. Saying we have to be first is a fairly ridiculous statement IMO.

However, there are two benefits to being first:

1) It would be nice to be first.
2) Whoever is first will likely get some strong media attention, and we've seen (because of Boohoo) what that does to a share price.

DM83, demand is likely to completely outstrip supply.

The Canadian Gov (via NGen) gave a 4.1million CAD grant to Sona Nanotech. it's non-repayable, however I understand there to be some sort of clause which says the Canadians get first refusal on test purchases.

I can't find the source now so perhaps somebody else can confirm. It stands to reason though that if the Gov put that much money in, there will be something which stops Sona shipping tests off to other countries before Canada's own needs can be met.

The best I can come up with is the below quote for the time being as don't have time to do further digging right now.

Had a message today from a friend who works amongst GP's. I don't know the specifics, but patients are turning up at GP surgerys saying their symptoms are re-occuring.

Source is highly reliable. Hopefully I have enough credibility on this board for this not to sound like I'm just making stuff up.
