LFD and impact on stats8 Jun 2020 10:17
Before I go any further I'll start by saying the new case count globally is continuing to climb and the UK is only a tiny part of the market.
We are seeing a falling case count in the UK .
(This may be true, or it may just be due to time to show symtoms, get tested, get results there's a delay of a couple of weeks. We don't actually know what's happening right now with social distance having pretty much gone out the window. There seems to be an increasing belief we will get a second wave, whether that be sooner or later - unless there is a dramatic improvement in testing.)
Anyway... getting to the point of post:
If/when Awacta release the LFD, testing on that scale is surely going to expose a lot of new cases? Lets say the LFD gets in some way coupled to 'track and trace' meaning the government then have these statistics.
Could it have an effect that we haven't thought of?
Is it possible that suddenly being able to screen the population on mass may expose a true extent of the virus, creating a spike in the statistics? What effect would this have do we think? It would no doubt create a self perpetuating demand for testing, but I wonder how the Government and public (who are now very relaxed it seems) would respond?
This is just something I've been thinking about. Sorry this post holds no great value!
