Investment v Speculation v gambling7 May 2020 10:08
Not meaning to teach anyone to suck eggs but some of the comments on here worry me, therefore:-
If you are after an investment - buy blue chip FTSE companies. Hopefully nothing exciting will happen, you’ll get a dividend (hopefully) you might get a small gain in your shareholding, you might not, it might go down.
Speculation - buy a AIM listed company, no real proven track history, possibly not even a profit but they have something that interests you, ground breaking drugs, tonnes of precious metals, a new software package that everyone will want. The gains could be huge (I’m up 1250% on EUA on paper) but you might loss those gains (oh well) if things don’t work out The way you thought.
Gambling - horse racing, football, any sports really, even TV reality series winner!
