Do we really have to fill the board with pointless guesstimates of which 99.999% will be wrong? Just sit back and see what happens.

Maybe we'll see a load of big T trades in the last hour of trading, haven't had that happen for a long time, but COP26 and a likely trading update RNS next week could spawn a few T trades.

Historically, end of October and the whole of November have been great for the number of RNS from AFC. The below are the 'meaningful' RNS for this period in 2019 and 2020. Perhaps we will get 7 decent one's this year too.

No company, not ABB, not an oil company, not De Nora, nobody is going to buy AFC until:

1) The Fuel Cell systems are proven to sell in meaningful quantity
2) That AFC financial results clearly indicate a profitable future for the company within a reasonable amount of time
3) That several of the Fuel Cell systems have been working 24/7 commercially without issues
4) That deliveries are happening without delay
5) That there are no issues with supply of any parts
6) That no competing technology or company is taking the market from AFC
7) Likely other things such as risk ratio, financial rations, etc

All of the above happening is unlikely to be the case for 18 months to two years.

But in the Half Year Results RNS, we were told it would be delivered by calendar year end.

Both Acciona and Juelich deliveries could be planned to happen during COP26.

Royal Mail switches entire Govan delivery fleet to EVs ahead of COP26 in Glasgow

Royal Mail has launched its first all-electric fleet of collection and delivery vehicles for a depot in Scotland as the country prepares to launch the 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) in Glasgow.

The G51 Delivery Office in the Govan area of the city has had its 13 diesel delivery and collection vans replaced by fully electric equivalents – comprising the office’s entire collection and delivery fleet. Two micro electric vehicles will also be joining the fleet as the company steps up its drive to further reduce emissions associated with its operations.

Simon Thompson, CEO at Royal Mail, said, “It’s fantastic news that we are able to transform the Glasgow G51 Delivery Office into the first Royal Mail ‘all-electric’ Delivery Office in Scotland. We always want to do the right thing by the communities we serve in terms of keeping our emissions as low as we can, and this is another important step in that direction. This is all in addition to our amazing posties delivering the mail by walking the streets of course.”

Scotland’s first minister Nicola Sturgeon said, “With the eyes of the world turning to Glasgow ahead of COP26, it’s vital that we lead by example when it comes to tackling the climate emergency. That is why it is such welcome news that Royal Mail are launching their first all-electric Delivery Office in Scotland just across the Clyde from where the summit will take place.

“Converting this delivery office entirely to electric vehicles is a really positive step towards our shared goal of net-zero and I want to thank Royal Mail for their efforts in making this happen.”

These people will all have a lot of information to take back to their companies, including ABB's solutions, and that AFC Fuel Cells can play a part in Data Centre power. Don't underestimate how big this is.

Some people say or believe that AFC would not save news and release it during or before COP26, but there are multiple examples of companies doing exactly this, so how come they would do it and AFC wouldn't???? Obviously AFC could, just like those other companies. Here's a few news items saved up and released just for COP26 PR reasons:

Ricardo (an AFC partner) - Ricardo plc ("Ricardo") will be holding a technical Deep Dive for investors and analysts at 12:00 on Tuesday, 9 November. The event will include a series of presentations by senior executives, including Mike Bell, Group Strategy and Transformation Director, and will be hosted by CEO Graham Ritchie.
The virtual event, held during the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) in Glasgow, will provide analysts and investors with a better understanding of Ricardo's hydrogen work, how the energy resource can help business and governments achieve net zero and its use in supporting a global green agenda.

Morrisons (supermarkets) - Bradford-based supermarket giant, Morrisons has brought forward its commitment to be net zero carbon emissions from its own operations by 2035, five years earlier than initially pledged.
The store plans to achieve this by operating its own solar ‘farm’ across sites and stores to supply Morrisons store appliances that require the most energy, like fridges and freezers with solar-powered energy.
It will span nearly 125 acres in total by 2025 - the size of over 70 football pitches and will be one of the biggest in the UK.

Motorists and businesses have made it clear what they would like to see announced as part of the Chancellor’s Budget tomorrow (October 27).

Close Brothers Motor Finance research shows that one in three (38%) would like some form of assistance from the Government to make electric vehicles (EV) more affordable.

Almost a third (35%) would like to see space in the Chancellor’s Budget for more EV charging points to be installed across the country, while 31% would like to see Government funding or grants to help with the outlay for installing charging points at homes.

A further 29% said they would like to see funding for all new build homes to have EV charging points installed as standard.

Seán Kemple, managing director of Close Brothers Motor Finance, said: “While hybrids and alternative fuel vehicles are getting more popular, there are significant concerns that must be addressed to encourage more motorists to make the switch.

“We are still languishing in the tens of thousands of much needed electric car charging points – we need to get to two million to meet the ambitious 2030 goals.

“We’re less than a decade away before the ban, so time really is of the essence. What’s more, with the global semiconductor shortage continuing to squeeze supply chains and limit production of new AFVs, we need to see greater support from the Government to aid sector recovery during an especially challenging time.”

The British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association (BVRLA), the British Retail Consortium (BRC), the Finance and Leasing Association (FLA), Green Alliance, Logistics UK, Renewable Energy Association, and Transport and Environment have co-signed a letter to the Chancellor outlining the need to introduce targeted plans to help boost electric van sales in particular.

They say that the lack of effective regulation or support for the electric van market means clear barriers remain that prevent fleet operators from making the transition.

BVRLA chief executive Gerry Keaney said: “Electric vans are the future, but for too long, the Government has focussed on one-size-fits-all solutions for EVs.

“Zero emission vans are not yet affordable, accessible or feasible for many fleets and use cases. The sector needs a well-financed strategy with additional targeted fiscal support if we are to meet the 2030 phase out target.

“The measures laid out so far in the Transport Decarbonisation Plan and Net Zero Strategy do not go far enough.”

I would ignore that company for at least 10 years, maybe 20 or 30 even. Thing is, they have created a mCHP boiler, but they won't have hardly anyone to sell it to, until there are Hydrogen grids supplying houses, offices, apartment blocks etc. They have the same issue as Hydrogen cars, they have no Hydrogen where its needed and won't have for a very long time. That probably explains why they are only just moving on prototypes next year. Oh well, it will keep them in a job for a while, that's about all by the looks of it.
