AFC clients will imminently be able to lease HFC systems, meaning they can get systems NOW and get on with their plans for decarbonisation, transitioning to EV's or zero carbon off grid power. They can progress to Methanol later this year, or to Ammonia early next year in a seamless transition, and either continue with the leasing or switch to ownership.

The original plan:

"AGS intends to commence activities in the Ntorya location from October 2021. The acquisition will consist of approximately 338 km² of 3D seismic data focusing on the area of primary interest. AGS will mobilise, weather permitting, and focus on the proposed location for the Chikumbi-1 well ("CH-1") to acquire as much data as possible before the start of the rainy season with the programme re-commencing after that with no additional cost to the JV partners."

As we know, October Seismic didn't happen, but the plan to focus on CH-1 might still be the order of the day.

UAP say the plan is to have the CAA regs in place for lift off in 2024 for passenger aircraft. They are working alongside e-VTOL manufacturers with the CAA to do this, so this is a groupwide plan, not just UAP's hopes.

In the meantime, drones are the name of the game, and the drone site (Police and Courier) in Coventry is probably going to go ahead this year I think.

The Air One site is going to get huge publicity, as UAP want it plastered across every paper and news site. Hopefully the AFC system will get some good coverage, but UAP are likely to get a lot of cities queuing up at UAP's door. Not just UK cities, many around the World too I expect.

If they did the CH-1 3D first, say 2 weeks to do that and 3 weeks to process it, then I'd be looking at:

Mid February to end of February (2 weeks): 3D seismic survey
End of February to end of 3rd week of March (3 weeks): 3D seismic interpretation
4th week of March: Seismic results and Rig contract (aren't APT using their own rig, if so then it's only a contract with the JV rather than an external contractor?)
Mid May to end of June (6 weeks): Drill + tests (OIL!!! BOOM!!!!)

I'm also going to add on that I think AEX will do the work on KN1 in May or June. I think this will go ahead because Tanzania want the gas and have settled the outstanding debt with AFC in order to progress it.

That is why Urban Air Port will be supporting Drones first (Police, Couriers, Etc), while the CAA get the approvals sorted out for e-VTOL's that carry people.

Drones will still need charging up.

The AFC system will also provide on site EV Charging.

My thoughts too! Good/bad days in the UK often follow good/bad prior evenings in the USA, as long as the UK doesn't have any major good/bad economic news in the morning. In the absence of RNS I always check the economic news before the open on https://tradingeconomics.com/calendar

This sure could be a game changer with Alkamem, which already looks to cut the cost of Electrolysis meaningfully, then add 'energy savings of 57%–66%, compared to traditional water electrolysis' by using Glycerol and that's huge money in the bank.

"Faraday’s efficiency is a relevant parameter to assess the amount of hydrogen generated according to the input energy and energy efficiency." and this process is 'consistently close to 100%'.

It's just amazing!. Glad I sent it to AFC! De Nora will love it!

USA made a really good recovery today from it's early drop!

Acquisition of the 338km2 3D seismic survey will commence upon full equipment mobilisation." So mid February start.

"There are two rainy seasons—the heaviest rains (called masika) usually fall from mid-March to May, and a shorter period of rain (called vuli) occurs from November to mid-January. The dry season, with cooler temperatures, lasts from May to October." So drilling has to be between May and November, but not too late in case of delays/issues).

So I am going with the following:

Mid February to end of March (6 weeks): 3D seismic survey
End of March to mid May (6 weeks): 3D seismic interpretation (could possibly start looking at this 2-3 weeks earlier if they have access to the data as it comes in, to see if anything new/big appears such as in the Jurassic)

Under alkaline conditions, the kinetics of glycerol oxidation is much faster with the production of more usable value-added products, so only devices operating under alkaline conditions will be presented.

In alkaline conditions with a solid alkaline membrane electrolysis cell (Figure 1c), the generation of hydrogen at the cathode co-produces hydroxyl ions that cross the anionic membrane to participate in the oxidation of glycerol at the anode. The alkaline medium in the electrolysis cell brings some advantages over the acidic conditions such as long-term durability and the possibility to use non-noble metals.

The general trend observed in the presence of glycerol in the anode compartment, compared to water electrolysis, is a decrease in the voltage required for the cell, and therefore in the energy cost, associated with the production of high value-added chemicals.

This system has resulted in energy savings of 57%–66%, compared to traditional water electrolysis.

Figure 5c shows clearly that the faraday efficiencies for hydrogen at varied current densities are all consistently close to 100%.

Also, we don't need 99.999% purity Hydrogen, we only need 97.5% minimum, which is dirt cheap in comparison, for a dirt cheap OPEX.

But what do we power it with? The power from the Fuel Cell system? Then, due to the losses across both systems, there is no spare power spare for anyone to use. Solar Power or Wind Power, yes, but then we lose our advantage of having a compact system with a small footprint.

Ammonia and Methanol power the cracker/reformer, so all of the power coming out of the system is available for use.

Yeah, I was thinking that too. It will use bottled Hydrogen initially, but they can buy 99.9% Hydrogen anywhere, which is cheaper than 99.999% required for PEM. As per the economics purveyed by AFC, off grid costs are much higher, especially with the Red Diesel ban coming in, and Hydrogen at 99.9% purity will be attractive in that situation.

ABB clearly have a lot of clients wanting an S Series compact sized system, hence they would not have forked out £4m to get it here sooner. The HFC can give the ABB clients a compact system soon, and as it'll be on lease, they can easily do a seamless transition to the S Series early next year.

We may not need to wait that long.

AFC Year End Operating Statement:

The HFC will be deployable in Q1 2022 running off direct hydrogen;

Customers have already expressed interest in early deployment of the HFC.

First deployments of the HFC system are expected to take place in the first half of 2022 to customer sites on lease terms. This way, the Company can begin monetising its air cooled "S" Series technology in advance of the anion exchange membrane being available later in 2022.
