There are loads of UK courses for EV training, just search Google. Many are for existing car mechanics to retrain, which they will need to do sooner rather than later, and can likely get better pay if they have the skills that will be in demand over the next couple of years as car manufacturers put out more EV models. As for school leavers, there's courses available.

Investors rushed back into some of the big tech stocks Thursday morning as uncertainty gripped the markets.

Microsoft Corp. shares gained 1.9%, while Amazon.com Inc. shares rose 0.9%, and shares of Google parent Alphabet Inc. added 0.8%.

Investors often turn to large technology companies when the outlook for the economy is unclear, betting that the companies can continue to generate earnings growth. Tech giants were a popular trade early in the Covid-19 pandemic, helping drive major stock indexes higher.

More recently, the trade had faltered. Expectations that the Federal Reserve will soon begin raising interest rates has led investors to question the lofty valuations that some tech names have enjoyed. But the uncertainty created by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has some investors thinking the central bank may raise rates gradually.

“The Federal Reserve was very unlikely to do a 50 basis point rate hike for liftoff at its March meeting anyway,” said Jamie Cox, managing partner for Harris Financial Group. But the situation in Ukraine, he said, “cements liftoff to, at most, 25 basis points.”

Final results RNS last Year appeared on 1 March.

I have 3 options in my mind for this Year:

28 Feb (9th Monday of the Year, same as last Year)
1 March (same date as last Year)
7th March (First Monday of March, same as last Year)

On the results, I think we are ALL expecting a bigger loss than the Year before, as AFC have significantly increased staff numbers, plus it looks like they spent money going to all the Extreme E races to show it off to visiting business leaders / politicians / dignitaries etc, plus COP26 costs, plus gearing up for the S Series / HFC stack manufacturing, buying in all the parts for those systems as well.

As always, it will be a case of looking at the business progress and future plans, and the level of cash in the bank vs the loss to work out how many years of cash AFC still have (many years obviously, so just a case of exactly how many).

Reading between the lines is always suggested for AFC RNS, where they can't say too much due to NDA restrictions, but can and do give a lot of hints.

I would not be surprised to see news before the results RNS, and top of that list is obviously the HFC launch, along with details of some of the places the first systems will be going (Acciona, Mace, possibly Extreme E, possibly ABB, Juelich, etc).

My thoughts exactly. Shorters can easily ruin upcoming UK smaller companies, especially when they gang together (just as they do on here) just as companies are trying to do their next phase of fundraising. Usually shorting uses baseless arguments to devalue a company, and uses blatant scaremongering to fore shareholders to sell.

We should be supporting these smaller UK companies to the hilt, for the future wealth of the country (and yes, we get part of that, but it's the principle that counts), just as I do with AFC and my other stocks. Do people really want all UK companies to fail, so that the UK really does become 'a nation of shopkeepers' with nothing to sell to other countries apart from banking? If shorters got their way 100%, that is all that would be left.

Truck charging will be a good market for AFC Systems, as many depots and warehouses won't have the power capacity to charge their huge batteries up during loading/unloading. Think of a company like ASDA with dozens of trucks (in each location) to charge at the distribution depot and again at the destination warehouse.

"who will be first to actually sell it" is pretty irrelevant really, as what one project decides to buy may not be what the other project decides to buy, and in both cases what future companies decide to buy based on the projects.

There is clearly room for both systems and several others. No company will get a monopoly, just like with Fuel Cells in other markets.

I wouldn't bother looking at this for at least a year, maybe two.

£33.7m market cap right now. Clearly with the assets alone it is significantly undervalued, before we add the potential upside of more gas discovered during 3D Seismic, or even oil further down.

AFC won't be doing 'backup' Generators for a while, the systems will need to be produced at a much bigger scale to make that cost effective. AFC are targeting primary power in all applications and will be for a few years.

The Data Centre power was based on the AFC running continuously and providing low Oxygen Air (as a fire prevention measure), it was not designed as a backup solution.

GM = another pointless distraction

We had the discussion about GM a few weeks ago. As stated at the time, and several times since, the market is MASSIVE, there is masses of room for all players, and AFC do not need to compete with any of them, as it can definitely get a fair share of the market itself.

Parts of the original IP that AFC started with worked in the lab, but didn't sale up commercially, mainly the electrode substrate (which Gene Lewis changed to metal) and the method of applying the catalyst (which they changed many times). We dropped Silver a long time ago too.

This is from the AFC listing document from when they floated. As you can see, none of this is relevant to today's design.

Presently, the catalyst layer is formed by a sequence of hand spraying steps, each followed by drying. This is a satisfactory laboratory procedure but automation is presently being developed. We have bigger fish to fry, much bigger. EV charging, off grid Genset replacement, marine, rail, etc.

Also, there's no way the L Series was suitable for mobile base stations, it's way too big. The HFC and S could do it, but I doubt AFC are interested, as they already have loads of fingers in different multi-billion pies.

Hopefully AFC will take my advice and enquire with GenCell about supply of Ammonia Crackers, as the GenCell one (if they are not lying about it) looks really good.

It's to incentivise them to get the sales going and get the share price up. Nothing special.
