RE: Bramble Energy secures £35million funding28 Apr 2022 14:38
Bramble has been going for 3 years yet:
1) It took AFC 15 years to get where it is today. I don't know of any FC company that has achieved big commercial sales in the first 10-15 years
2) We do not know the efficiency or longevity of the Bramble systems, they are barely out of the lab, so very early stage, despite their hype (the same kind of hype all fuel cell companies saw in their first few years, then having to wind their necks back in when it didn't happen as fast as expected)
3) We do not know how the cost compares with AFC's low cost systems
4) We do not know if Bramble can successfully scale up their systems to the levels where AFC are already at and the levels AFC will be at come end of 2022 with the bigger S and HFC systems
5) We can be 100% sure (because they do not claim it!) that the Bramble systems cannot use Ammonia or Methanol, so have to use the most expensive 99.999% purity Hydrogen. Their CAPEX might be low cost, but their OPEX will not be, whereas for AFC the CAPEX and OPEX are both low cost.
I wouldn't invest in Bramble at this point, having spent 13 years holding my AFC stock I think the money would be better off in AFC, ITM, CWR, PPS, BLDP, PULG, FCEL, BE, NEL and PCEL, as they are way further ahead in many respects.
