Once again a strong presentation by the BOD on Friday night.
Not easy to relate everything that was said, but basically David is very happy and proud of the progress made this year.
The SP movement since the placing is a frustration, but it was reiterated that acquiring Bright Bricks was absolutely the correct thing to do and transforms the business.
We have cornered the market, so to speak.
My take on it, and others who I spoke with, is DC is manoeuvring the company into a position where the big boys can't ignore us.
There was some criticism of the Birmingham show, and the BOD agreed it wasn't slick enough. Important to understand we don't run the show, it's our partners that are responsible for that.
The Dallas show will set a benchmark, our partners need to up their game to match it.
There was also a discussion about quality over quantity.
No point banging out loads of events if quality isn't there, it would hurt the Brand.
Trudy Norris-Grey is a force to be reckoned with, the BOD is much stronger now.
She impressed everyone with her passion and drive.
Education is important to her and she wouldn't have joined unless she believed this company has potential.
The BOD was also excited about the tie up with Stephen Reid.
I think it was said it took them months just to get him to speak to us.
He is highly regarded in STEM education.
A number of times it was stated we are a live events company, not just brick based events.
Nothing price sensitive was disclosed, nor anything that as yet has been officially released, but the company is growing.
Overall I'm very happy, glad I made the effort to attend and happy to hold long term.
Next year will be interesting.
