ICE engined cars.. Is my opinion they reach a high point is around 2010 and since then the "rules " on emissions has made them more problematic. Euro 7 emissions rules( due July 2025)will be end of many engine types.

DPF filter a big issue with the diesel. But other issues now haunt diesels as well.

Small fuel efficient turbo charge engines made by Ford, Vauxhall etc developed many issues with wet belts.
