Respect surely the problem with this one is that private sector pensions has been made worse. I believe there was a time when many private sector schemes were so well funded members could have the contribution holiday etc..

One point on the renewables is that they are space consumptive.. This is fine for somewhere like the America or the Africa which has the huge land mass. Other wise we is forced to look off shore to site the turbines etc and energy [produced from such methods is very expensive.. If we going to compete on the global stage we need cheap energy.

We also need to factor in security as Ukraine is finding to its cost.

1) Insurance premium tax.. Over next 6 years this will raise £55.7bn... Yet we has to have the insurance. How is this fair especially with premium they shooting up...?

So anyone who has served knows the stock 155mm L15 shell. Millions used so far in the Ukraine conflict.. So how much this cost each.

In 2021 was 2,000 Euro per shell. Now is 3,300 Euro per shell.

How much Russia pay to make its 152mm shell . 1,000 Euro.

Same for most other bits of kit... So why the price hike?

Tbh with you bros. Anyone investing in stocks and shares soon realise that you have to tred very carefully in the "private sector". Both large and small cap. I would add many of the companies that do very nicely thankyou are often reliant on lucrative contracts with the public sector, who are keen to max out on profits when opportunities arise as we saw with the Covid.

You know the phrase. Privatise profits nationalise losses ..

Public services are the most essential. Health, security, policing, education, rubbish collection, local services inc adult social care. You what all of this to be privatised? Because it has worked so well for the energy companies, water companies and rail ( quasi public) shipbui8loding etc etc.. NOT..

You would be paying £5K a year minimum for your health care and that would not include pre existing conditions.

At the moment I am awaiting BT to get their act together. Wayleave was sorted a few months back to put in the ultra fast fibre under land I own to connect the 5 houses in the close. So far 6 missed appointments, a guy who seemed a bit clueless and a new review date for the works on the 21st of this month. I am still awaiting the automatic compensation payments.

Respect but the crown estate is a an independent, commercial business. The Sovereign grant however is paid from this and is set at 12%. So yes the Royal family do receive less than it earn. The Crown estate owns a large portfolio of property and other assets which have little or nothing to do with Tourism.

The duchies are again separate from the crown estate. The Crown estate also has a claim on bona vacantia properties under the law of 'escheat'. Where it hold the superior interest.

Personally I would like to see a much slimmed down "Royal family"... .Thus avoiding the move to a presidential republic.
