"Salman Amin, chief executive of McVitie’s maker Pladis, ( 16,000 staff globally) said the case for investing in the UK is now much weaker than it was a decade ago.
He told the CBI conference that the company had previously been “super bullish on the United Kingdom”, which had resulted in the company investing more than £2bn in Britain since 2014.
However, Mr Amin said investor confidence had since been damaged by Rachel Reeves’s recent Budget, as well as officials’ continued oversight of the food and drink sector ".
