The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
Sturntrupper, keep it civil. there is no reason for personal attacks. We are here to discuss AFC, not what we think of TG.
'Guitarman, it was meant to be in 2020, but Covid resulted in the event being cancelled that year. It is being advertised for 2021 with AFC involvement.'
Thanks Bumble, I eventually found the link to the rescheduled show, detailing Afc's involvement. ;-)
That British Motor Show was supposed to be last summer. The announcement was Dec 2019.
Blaming the Texas debacle on their wind turbines is utter BS. Renewables make up only 10% of the resources in Texas, so the other 90% have some questions to answer. Gov. Abbott is an idiot.
Officials at ERCOT, which operates the power grid have gone so far as to say that failures in wind and solar were the least significant factors. It's simply an issue of their grid infrastructure that failed.
Perhaps in a few years time, situations like this can be mitigated with the deployment of AFC f/c's at local substations.

Apologies if already posted, but if not, good to hear people saying the right things. Although at one point she does say 'let me invite those of you, based in the European Union, to also join and endorse it's objectives'.
I agree Haggis, but I will say the American market can be tricky to crack.
When I was growing up, we happened to live next door to one of the US's chief test pilots, who was tasked, at the time, with assessing Concorde for the US market.
During extensive trials, he was totally smitten with the aircraft, saying it was the best plane he had ever flown, a was a complete fan. He used to invite my father (aeronautics engineer) over to show him the photos he'd taken on test flights and share his excitement. He submitted his finding to his seniors, who immediately buried his report. Their argument was that the USA would just have to build a better plane, rather than have to admit the someone else had something better to offer.
I'm not being anti American (I've lived there for a number of years) but you have to admit and admire their singlemindedness to achieve the best, even if that means not admitting/acknowledging that there may be better options available at the time.
Good find alwaysontheroad - thanks for posting.
Augusta wrote -' the real potential lies in ABB and Acciona'. I absolutely agree.
While it will be great to see the AFC logo on our TV screens at ExE events, the real purpose of the ExE link is to road test and develop/evolve the product in real world applications (as with all car manufacturers' involvement in any form of motorsport). As mentioned by AB, IIRC, in recent interviews.

My HL account is giving me a live price ATM, so may not be an HL issue.
D147, you only need to look at the names of the contributors to the 2021 predictions to know that most have been here for most of your existence, so even though the predictions are a bit of fun, I suspect 'these people' are well aware of the reason for the increase.
Having been invested since 2014, I can't believe I missed the information about the strategic partnership with ABB, or ExE, DeNora, Acciona, 30Mil, Alkamem, BK Gulf, new facility, Jülich etc, etc, etc. You must have dug deep to find such information, as for the life of me, I can't imagine where you found it, Sherlock.
However, as you have done all this marvellous research, that none of 'these people' were aware of, before making their predictions, perhaps you would just give us the actual figure now.
Guitarman18 - £3.50
Hi All, long time lurker, first time poster and LTH here. I'm going to throw my hat in the ring and say £3.50, based upon mostly optimism. If nothing else, AFC seems to have a knack of producing surprises, particularly in November/December.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the other LTH holders for keeping the faith in AFC and unearthing research that has kept me invested, even when things looked dire (I should have been invested in incontinence pants when we down at 3.08 (22/4/2019 close), as I was a major buyer).
The situation certainly looks completely different now, where I can dare to dream that my investment may well prove to be life changing for me and my family.
As with Haggis, I will be here until £10, so the sooner that comes, the better (any predictions Haggis ;-))
Happy New Year to you all and may 2021 prove to be just the first of many profitable years to come for AFC.
