It will depend on what is connected to the generator, surely. If the device being supplied only requires a specific amount of power, then that is what it will draw. The generator won't give it more than it requires, just because it can.

Maybe Brett Aggregates don't want to run the generator at full capacity 24/7, and are happy to use it when and how they want.

Also Garonne, developing a cracker that could only produce less pure hydrogen suitable for an AFC fuel cell would limit their potential market significantly. The whole point in demonstrating that it is capable of producing purer hydrogen is that it can be used with all fuel cells (PEM & AFC) and hydrogen combustion engines, which means that the potential market is huge - but you know that, I'm sure.

daz, acciona didn't want a 30-50kva unit to trial. that would have cost them x5 as much in fuel, and all the logistical issues in sourcing enough fuel to keep it running, and finding enough equipment to use the generated power. that's why we have the 10kva 'ambassador' units.

also, this nonsense about the unit only being able to run 4 kettles (ade). there is no need to run 4 kettles, day and night to trial a generator. if you want to use maths, then that same unit would be capable of heating x5, 4 bed homes (as i don't just boil kettles day and night, according to my latest bill). those 10kva units have a legitimate place in the generator ****nal, and you know it.

Klunk, I wouldn’t be at all surprised if there is a little hesitation to inform/respond to or engage with share holders, beyond their legal requirement, as there is a vorciferous minority that plague AFC posts on LinkedIn etc, with comments that are not helpful and damage the brand, that potential customers get to see.
I was shocked to learn that AFC have received a number of abusive emails from so called ‘shareholders’. Maybe that is normal behavior in this day and age.

Daz, the tendering for funding by Universities and academic institutions is quite a convoluted process, especially if institution doesn’t know what they want/ are asking for, due to the rapid progress being achieved by AFC.

The reason the generator was sent to IAV was simply convenience. David Harvey managed pull a few strings with some old colleagues in Germany, where he used to work, to book a testing bay at IAV, that happened to be available at the time, which was acceptable to both parties. No VW motive involved, at this time.
