Im sure the lender would have considered this question first.
Would they have renegotiated if they could foresee the company going belly up in march(with loans still outstanding even after todays payment) or risk antagonising current sharehoders through a raise and dilution at a huge discount to fair price which according to analysts is 4.4p?

The deal struck with the investment banks where they only receive a fee if a sale occurs puts them under pressure to achieve a satisfactory conclusion for all sides.
If they were to receive 8-10% in fees (which is the industry standard) would they be happy to conclude a deal for less tha £500m for more than a month of endeavours. £25m isnt exactly huge amount for such calibre of banks.
I wonder what fee was charged for the Impala acquisition?

Also, now that hols are over I'd expect bankers, accountants, brokers, analysts, etc back at their desks working on dd and likely takeover price. Would be surprised if bids are not on the table by end of this month. GLA
