I am only still invested because the average price I have paid for my shares is 7p, ouch! I'm sure there are few more like me...
rmhcinty, I think your comment about tracker funds is a bit unfair. Plenty of folk use them, they are relatively low cost compared to actively managed funds and your risk is spread over hundreds of companies. If you look at the cumulative return on some UK growth funds over the last 5 years you could be looking at 40% growth. Compare that to leaving your money in a savings account or invested in AMC over the last 5 years, the tracker fund wins. I am still heavily invested in AMC but I believe portfolio diversification is the key and would certainly consider tracker funds, I think you can make money with them by buying in the troughs, selling in the peaks and reinvesting dividends.
I think when the funding comes, it will have been worth the wait. Tom Bowens and the other directors will look like fools if the funding deal has a negative impact on the share price after their recent large purchases of shares in the company. Like the rest of us they will want to make a good profit on their purchases and I hope and trust that they were confident of the funding deal in the pipeline when they made they made their own purchases.
Something very weird going on when 4 of the top 5 trades by volume so far today are for £10 or less.
I guess it will be come out in the wash eventually.
Let's not forget, all of the large director share purchases have been at or slightly above the current share price. Whatever we think about today's RNS, I think the directors are of the opinion that bottom of the barrel has been scraped with the s.p. And the only way in 2020 is up!
Small trades, well if previous form is anything to go by, (apart from the last round of purchases) it's probably our directors buying :-)
Yes, Silverlight, a nice rise into the close. Perhaps Robin was tying the ribbon on the special Christmas RNS for us long suffering lth's!
Hello RJthe3rd,
Yep, I am invested in the woodford fund through HL. It was on their 'Wealth 50' list right up until its suspension.
Hi etank,
Yes, it is good that the directors now have more skin in the game and most intriguing of all is Tom Bowens who spent so much soon after joining us.
I have to try and be glass half full with my investments through thick and thin, l am one of the millions stuck in the Woodford Equity Income fund. If you had told me a few months ago that amc would still have potential for massive upside and woodford was being wound up l would have thought you had got them the wrong way round! Just shows even those investments that you think are 'safer' are not and in my opinion you should diversify as much as possible.
Let's think positively. Perhaps all those attending the AGM this morning were made to sign NDA's because some big news is imminent. Got to hope, hopefully the only way is up in 2020 for amc. Our Chief Financial Officer took his entire salary in shares last year, I really don't think he would have done that unless he was positive about the years ahead for amc.
The 2 biggest trades today appear to be buys. Not beyond the realms of possibility there could still be an RNS before the meeting tonight. Got to have hope.
Tom Bowens bought £162,000 worth of AMC shares. I think he knows something we don't. I am as frustrated as the rest of you but yet more patience required here.
I see there was a trade of a single share at 16:29. My money is on another RNS in the morning! (isn't the trade of a single share supposed to be a signal?)
Chinaman, good evening. I've got to say the amount you have invested in AMC is very impressive and shows great confidence. I hold 300,000 of these and am slightly nervous that I may have put too many of my eggs in the amc basket via the aim casino. Good luck to you, and if you know something that the rest of us don't, to invest such a sum at this time, please consider sharing. Is 'chinaman' a clue?!
I wonder what Tom Bowens thinks about the anonymous buyer of 70 million shares getting there's at a discount when he had to pay the full market price for his. It will be interesting to see if Mr Bowens is at the AGM. In my eyes, he is now the CEO of this company, simply because my understanding is that he owns 7.5 million shares, 3 times as many as Robin Young. Why such confidence? I would be very surprised if the discounted anonymous sale of the 70 million shares does not have the full approval of Tom Bowens and that gives me confidence.
No problem, thanks for the apology, you don't see that very often on these boards. Good luck with your holding of AMC shares (I'm assuming) I hope they come good for you too.
Glaw, how rude, I was simply offering my humble opinion after sitting tight for many years holding AMC shares. In your opinion my thoughts maybe carp, but on the subject of fish, I hope all of us lth's will be too busy eating Russian caviar to read some of the carp on these bulletin boards, when are patience is finally rewarded.
I am a long term holder of AMC shares and I'm still well in the red. However I feel like we are completing the final mile of the marathon. There is no smoke without fire and I feel the massive trading volumes of recent days could well be a sign that the AMC story could be approaching it's conclusion. The upcoming ev revolution and the appointment of Tom Bowens are great signs for me. Patience of a Saint required, all lth's should keep the faith, I have a feeling we might be nearly there but I could be completely wrong and it could be yet another AMC false dawn.
