LSE-PDZ PRAIRE MINING
Had a wild punt on PDZ Praire Mining the Polish coking coal play, had a strong move already this last month up c100% on the LSE and similar in Poland/Aus but off around 30% from the highs there.
The projects actually look very good, the main Lublin one looks fantastic even when forecast on coal at a very low level, comes on production in about four years and needs substantial capex for mine development but the payback time is c2years.
The other project is a 'mine ready' facility that they pinched off NWR's receivers.
Likely recoverable reserves c400mt and mine life of 20+ years. EBITDA of Lublin alone at much lower coal prices than we see today $400m+ per annum. Lowest lifting costs in Europe and comparable against the Mongolian mines. Key is the closeness to the major European Steel manufacturers.
Found this little piece that made me think, local Polish piece that just about states the Chinese Coal Company (second largest in the world) met them onsite on the 19th with a view to talking about a JV to build. If that came off I suspect the mcap would appreciate to c£100m+ fairly quickly.
Without a JV they are funded medium term c£10m cash and small scale mining will start on the NWR project.

Like I say bit of a random pick but with the asset value/coking coal prices and the possible JV it kind of stacks up for me!

The Chinese are engaged in the development of the Lublin Coal Basin
On Saturday, the Marshal's Office in Lublin hosted a delegation of the China Coal Company - world's second largest coal producer in terms of extraction (250 million tonnes per year) and a world leader in the construction of deep mines (in 2015 conducted 48 mining projects, mainly coal). A delegation from China, led by Sang Hua, general manager of the foreign division, took office Krzysztof Grabczuk, Deputy Speaker of the Lublin province. - I believe that through the cooperation of China Coal Mining Company of Prairie, corporation owning PD Co., the company responsible for the construction of the mine in Siedliszcze, soon in the district Chelm able to build a mine to them. Jan Karski and just as quickly run mining. From the Regional Board in Lublin I can assure you that your company can count on the goodwill and support of the local government - spoke to guests from China Deputy Speaker Krzysztof Grabczuk. In the meeting on behalf of Prairie Mining was attended by the president and vice-presidents Ben Stoikovich Mirosław Taras and Artur Kluczny.
When you look at PDZ and you compare the reserves to that of a oil junior, yet coking coal currently sells its unit price at a much either level than crude you do wonder why its only a
