After the Fiasco of losing $100m in the CEO's private bank I'm sure the institutional investors and BH insisted on his appointment .

He is also a bankruptcy lawyer and restructuring lawyer, no doubt put in there by concerned institutional investors. It can be viewed two ways, 1 he have a good guy on the team brought in early to protect the company, 2 we have issues and this is an emergency 'signing' to the board. Maybe a bit of both.

our new director is a corporate lawyer trouble shooter - sent into AfrenPLC , within. 3 months of his chairmanship Afren was bust . Not his fault mind you. But he seemed to be a bond holder appointee to a company in trouble . Is it the same here - seems like he is a debt expert .

FOGL have about $10m in cash still, and wisely handed the over-budget bill on this well to Noble in exchange for the 35% of the lower ( over budget sections ). So $10m is plenty for a long time. Years even.

I think everyone took a bath on Afren. I sold at 24p but had bought at 27p so I lost here to. normal trades. We may see some more slippage here in the next day or so, but I hope for all this is the bottom, it still has good assets , and cash, but I agree Rockhopper offers a much safer option between the two, and you may see Insitutioninvestors doing a straight swap between the two. we played on the 50% average out.

I sold here over one month ago, my entire stock. the delay on the drill spooked me. My plan was to buy back in once we had the Hump results, good or bad. Frank;y I didn't expect this, I was expecting a messy find, waxy oil, water breaks, management issues in the well. I genuinely thought this would be a success. The RNS is a vague, it says there was nothing for them to sample, and then said they we were going to analyze the results to help better understand the geology. anyhow, I say back today, I'll give it a day or two and average back in for a small investment ,,,,,,all the best,,,,,,so sad to see Afren being sold off this very week.

the banking collapse was an industry wide occurance - maybe he will focus more on this cash cow now and get things back on track .

big daddy, you calculations on carats seem very high. only high grade stones get that kind of price….but there are other things to recommend this share.

hmm? This is an alluvial mine and as such the stones should not be too great ... But you can get lucky I suppose , I'll believe it when I see it. It's a waiting game - let's see what the next news brings .

investors here are tired waiting. Now they can finally see the mine coming to life, once this nears production I expect the SP to move strongly up. there is a bias against non producing Oil and Energy stocks. But Orm is nearly there….

the RNS stated 250,000 per quarter. there is no mention of rampup in the RNS or further increases and while I personally agree with you that it is likely, the Canny accountant will insist we can only use the figures before us. as for $3 a carat, that is in the RNS. It states we enter profit territory at $3 a carat. Again, we cannot say with surety how much above the $3 a carat we will rise. But again for accounting purposes it is essential to be conservative and go with the lower figures. I for one am looking forward to the sales update in the coming weeks. That will be telling/

the smaller stones below 4mm are hard to sell and have very little value. But if you find a buyer for this, happy days.
