George Frangeskides, Chairman at ALBA, explains why the Pilbara Lithium option ‘was too good to miss’. Watch the video here.
My thoughts on your question on the matter of my guess that we have a Major sniffing around Midatech. This may be some time away but if you read and extract from the Midatech website….”Dr Phillips initially held senior positions at Johnson & Johnson and Novartis Pharmaceuticals. At Novartis, he was in Clinical & Business Development and was a Board Director of the $1.3bn Arthritis, Bone, Gastrointestinal, Haematology and Infectious Diseases business unit and a member of the company’s Clinical Leadership Team.” Now we know that Q-Octreotide for Acromegaly and Carcinoid is entering human trials in 2017, from the slide pack ..Commercialisation and market potential • c.$100m, representing c.5% of a $2bn a year market in first line SSAs, and less than 10% of Sandostatin® LAR’s $1.6bn+ annual sales Sandostatin® and LAR® are registered trademarks of Novartis We also know MTX110 for DIPG in compassionate use is entering human trials in 2017 Panobinostat API licensed from Novartis June 2017 Product could be commercially available as early as 2019 • Market estimate $50-100m globally If you do a search on Chief Executive Joe Jimenez and Novartis's M&A focus going forward you will see the way I am thinking. As noted all guess work and will probably not happen; but you never know….. Another point is that you will note as I have of the 10K delayed trades popping up. These could well be shorting positions. This becomes problematic in a M&A situation as stops are not tripped and there is a potential for significant losses...... To press the point all guess work, but perhaps you can see why I might think as I do.
I too thought that as last year they provided a precise date in the same announcement. Perhaps they are awaiting for news ... part of me thinks a Major is sniffing around ... still there is a reason... gives the Management some flexibility and allows for news to come in and perhaps a more positive update.... all conjecture but you never know. See that it is sub £1 to sell now... are they looking for stop loss positions I wonder. I am waiting and hoping.
George-Inn if you go to the Midatech site and under investors open up the presentation dated 4/4 (AGM Presentation) and look at slide 3. Then open up the latest presentation dated 7/8 you will see a line has been added to with the words "break even expected over the next 12 months". Either is was always the case and omitted or perhaps something has changed to allow this statement..... still either way reassuring. Suspect we will know more early Sept when the next scheduled update is due.
Slide 3 has been changed from the AGM presentation... "break even expected over the next 12 months".
Looks good to me. A few hurdles to go, but on track and could be a good money earner in the future. I expect that we should see some more updates in the next qtr and once the market has recognised the sum of the parts then I am expecting a re-rating, assuming good news on all fronts. Perhaps the commentary attached to formal reporting of first half will be the catalyst. Brokers target prices from 140p to 297p a share.
Very detailed presentation just made available today on the Midatech website. It took me a good 30 mins to wade through.
Just skimming thru prices and was surprised to see very large volume and subsequent price spike for Midatech over on the Nasdaq.
Midatech are presenting Thursday PM (details on ADFN site). Midatech trades on Nasdaq and there was a large trade late on pushing the price up. I do get the feeling that someone with deep pockets is taking a position in Midatech. We might even get an RNS soon to help push the SP forward. There is a presentation that was issued at the AGM earlier in the month on the Midatech web site that helped me understand more the application of the nanoparticle technology in the development work being undertaken.
Someone is keen, not only today but over the past month some large trades have shown up. That is a sizeable percentage of the free float I reckon. So unless someone is offloading to a new holder we might show a rise soon once we have news...
Todays RNS is confirmation that MTPH is on track (perhaps ahead) and guidance for 2017 and is imo conservative. Suspect that like most who follow this I have the finger hovering over the buy button now I am not sitting on me hands. Any smidgen of a re-trace i'm in for a few more..
I agree given that around 3.5% of the company changed hands late yesterday and the price was unmoved. Must be things happening in the wings on this one. Will wait for the next RNS, but will be surprised if the SP flatlines given the recent large trades. Now if MTPH have some good news the dream of being the next Shire may be in reach. Still will sit on my hands ...... I do agree with George-Inn though that the US side will be doing well....
Wonder where L&G got them from. See that they now hold a fair chunk of MTPH. With the other insti. holders the free float must be lower than most (imo). We are promised news re the Manufacturing expansion in Bilbao prior to end 2016, the twitter feed mentioned the Bilbao plant yesterday. Wonder why as it seemed so random..... or perhaps news on the horizon. Added to my position this week.... gla...
Done lots of research of late and was able to grab a nice parcel of shares at 110p. Must admit that I over bid thinking it would be pared back. Had to do some more reading (once I told the missus about my miscalculation) and I'm pretty impressed with what is on offer here. I expect that once the Manufacturing facility is announced in Spain then the SP should rise. I really like what Midatech is doing and you never know it might just be another Shire. See that Woodford took a large slice of late and he knows more than most. So it is a strong buy for me and next year could be a good one given the US election (pharma in vogue) and the developing pipeline of opportunity for the business. Looking to add more soon (just need to raid the portfolio)....
Paid 3.42 for a few. Pretty bullish statement and once further announcements are made should I agree impact positivley the whole group given the price of CBM in China is not impacted by global pricing.
Well..... having planned for a new home for me 10p shares I see that some bets are placed that it might be more. Either some investors like to throw money away or the reckoning is that more might be in the offering. I must admit to be surprised how blatent the 5p CVR was trailed as not likely, perhaps someone has mis calculated and the court might have reason to ask questions of the CVR. Dunno what happens then.... still we should know this time next week.
I agree that it will be close. All down to the 1% + holders as I suspect some 20% of holders will not vote which will increase the CP vote to some 65% (I reckon). So only 10% to find amongst allies and friends. I think 5% in the bag so its down to say 5%. The CP have done their calculation and reckon they will get the numbers. I do hope they have miscalculated, it will be close. We will all be the wiser soon. Expect an RNS today / Monday with the result.
Thanks Del44 , I pop in on this every now and then and have a peep on postings. I do hope the 75% is not hit and hope that all holders vote as this may be a close call. I would expect the bidders to come back with an increased offer ; I reckon circa 12p now with 3p CVR. I do think the 15p price point is bid for a reason so my logic is the mix will be tweaked to ensure more vote in favour. All guesswork but now my remaining colours are pinned to the mast of the good ship Rejection I may as well muse as to what will happen in the comming weeks.
Voted No yesterday for my remaining holdings. Though sold a few to bank monies ; eggs baskets 'n all. The speed at which (a large parcel) was picked up suggested to me that this vote will be close. Still a significant holder and hoping for an higher offer (thought that the lowest offer should have been the highest price in last 12 months).
Good to see volumes pick up over @ CGH only part day trading so even better. Could be the broker comment as noted by Del44 or, might (I hope) be summit else of interest. I was thinking (plenty of time on my hands) and now if there was a chance of somthing else coming in from the left field re FTO would this be pre or post formal offer doc. Still keeps the interest up and if FTO was to disappear I would miss it. Festive greetings and wishing everyone a prosperous new year (might be this time) to all posters.
Nice to dream, but you never know given the cash at hand and interest in CGH. http://file.irasia.com/listco/hk/behl/interim/2014/int.pdf "As at 30 June 2014, cash and bank deposits held by the Group amounted to HK$13.16 billion" Worst case 10p at the moment, not what I hoped for .............
