Anyone know for sure what proportion of the population are known to have been hospitalised from Covid. 1%, 10% or what ? In that case, have vaccines made any difference to the population at large ?

NewbieRookie. You must know how big India is so testing probably on a limited basis. But why no early results of some import ? Do you know how many Indians are being trialled ? Does anybody know how many UK citizens are being trialled and since when ? Surely thats not a State secret.

ProfSPD. Probably because the early reports (which they are certain to have) are not showing anything good. Difficult to feel positive during this elongated waiting game when a good outcome, approval and and production would clearly serve humanity well. On the optimistic side, perhaps they have good results but are negotiating the best post approval deal with one or more large producers in various continents and are therefore aiming to launch a major "oven ready" RNS

Expect a continuing downturn in investor confidence. But hope springs eternal and sadly, I am one of them. Having read the document, whilst Ocado are majoring on Autostores ommissions in their applications for US patents, that does appear to be a first step. If succesfully proved, it will cost Autostore $millions in fines and damages. The second stage would ne then to come to then prove that Autostores technology is in breach. Ommissions of evidence do not in themselves prove that Autostores devices are illegally copied and likewise do not disprove that Ocado was itself in breach of copyright law. This is a holding exercise aimed at delaying Autostores from pursuing their claim against Ocado but if fraud is proven, it would leave a much tarnished smell once the original claim is recommenced. Lets be fair to Autostores though, their technology has been sold some 10 times more than the small fish newcomer Ocado.

We must not lose sight of the fact that the 79% efficacy was based on tests of a young cohort who may have improved naturally. Brilliant even so but be interesting to see its effectiveness on the more vulnerable cohort. Taking a long time though and worrying.

Monketwizard. Good to be sceptical. Have long argued that until RNS are independently audited then there is every opportunity for AIM members to hype up minor news and even tell huge porkies. Sound investment bodies always watch the P&L as that is the real proof

Suspect many such announcements in future. Good long term investment and hopefully they are making profits so looking forward to dividends in next year or two

mentioned today that whilst hospital admission were on the increase, as in England, there was some evidence that stays in hospital did not deteriorate as before and the time spent in hospital was also less. Yet no mention that new medicines or methodologies might have been introduced. Hmm !
