Unsure why, despite the interim May optimism, the end of the second quarter has not resulted in an RNS within a week of the June end date. My optimism suggests that quarters finds are so good that they are having to take a second opinion OR, more likely, they have been asked not to publish the results until they have concluded negotiations with a large partner such as Barrick who will want their own surveyors to report back. In which case expect a game changing RNS shortly.

The logistics of supply, installation and recruitment of sufficient technicians for every new Ocado facility has significant limitations. One completed installation every 6 months or so is painfully slow bearing in mind the global potential. At this rate, their growth across say Europe or the US will, to put it mildly, be scratching the surface. Great technology but we have to be realistic.

Thanks Valueplay for this interesting graph which does put Auchan into perspective. Hope you dont mind me repeating it here for everyones benefit. Perhaps if Auchan were to merge with another retailer, we would see value added to the new contract. However, I still feel that Ocado cannot overstretch itself (unless with a new US partner) and cannot logistically take on contracts with the largest retailers just yet. It can never be a world leader technologically at its current level of growth unless it is somehow controlled by a huge dynamic which is only available in the US or China.

These countries must be hungry to try anything new with prospects which could alleviate the demand for hospital care. Its now about about marketing and supplying the test kits to medical regimes where appropriate patient selection, correct records and feedback can be guaranteed AND accessed readily. My only concern now is that the enormity of this potential new business n Europe will leave no capacity (staff and finance) for significant growth across the world. A global partnership with a US company now looks inevitable to speed things up which leaves Ocados mobile grocery business ripe to be severed - who knows, sold to Auchan ?

They will scrutinise everything including the Ocado deal and look for cost savings. Ocado make no profit as it is so they will have to stay strong and take any hits that may come their way. In the longer term, I can see Amazon investing in Morrisons and who knows, may even change Morrisons name to Amasons.

After so many years of growth developing their core strategy and business, does not look like Ocado will ever achieve a profit. I suspect that after the next results the price will continue to escalate to new heights due perhaps, like me, hoping for a major takeover or a business split off.

I still take the view that if I were hospitalised and offered a trial which may be a blind one, I might opt for the tested methods available to all. If at home and therefore not needing hospital care, I might also hang on with an aspirin or three to see if it goes, as seems to be the way currently.
