I tend to agree with Mer on the issue of lengths of clinical trials, although I completely understand where Sambar is coming from, considering Val have up until this point, taken an inordinate amount of time to carry out their trials.
A phase three can be relatively short (say a year, if the company were so inclined...look at remdesivir).
As long as the endpoints were met, which in our case would be to compare the Anti cancer benefit to the current standard treatment in a preferably double blind trial in a larger number of participants. This would involve regular scanning and bloods taken, which would possibly be done every few months for a scan to check the size of tumours and possibly weekly/monthly bloods for psa, so you could certainly get meaningful data Within 12-18 months. Approval, recruitment (which is where it seems to have been dragged out so far) and review would then add to that time.
As the goal is to partner up with hopefully a big company for this stage, this should help to speed the whole process up.
Let’s hope for great results from this. They’re already better than 401, but I agree with Valju in that 401 may be the dark horse here...we just don’t know yet.

I have to agree with you. I have a small punt in an Australian mining company. It’s good to have a bit of a gamble sometimes with an early mining company. You never know what might come up...

Be careful with Alba. That Clogau gold mine in Wales has changed hands so many times. Makes me a bit skeptical of them. I did some basic research on them a few weeks ago, then ended up putting more into ggp instead. As I’m here for the 201 results and whatever may come afterwards, I’m not getting too stressed about price movements, so it’s nice to be able to study them and learn about what is actually going on with the price movements.

I’ve noticed this all morning...the pattern of buys and sells do not equate to the actual share price movements. There are clearly Quite a few big buys that have been listed as sells

I believe in this company too. To be even a tiny part of something that could potentially change so many lives is both humbling and exciting for me. I have a feeling that a lot of people here feel the same way.

To look deeper into the overall effectiveness mentioned here, than they did for the first set of raw results from the initial trial I’ve been looking at?

If these results are as we hope, then that would certainly bring us in line with peers. So I would hope for 80p, but obviously hate to make predictions, for the reasons I mentioned last night. Considering how much of a big deal a prostate cancer drug that actually works would be, for me, this should raise the price more than results of 401 did, as it is a much more robust trial, with much stronger data. This is why I’m more excited about 201 at this stage, as it’s a much wider experiment, with a much more robust dataset to analyse in many ways.
Believe me sharegnomie, I will be counting down the days until the results are there for me to have a look at!

Although I hate to compare to Synairgen, as we are so different from them, they played an absolute blinder with their trial. It was a truly beautiful experiment. They conducted a stage 1/2 trial in the manner of a stage 2/3 trial, which made their results so much more valid. This isn't why their sp rose so much, that was due to their excellent results, but it is the reason as to why they may get the drug approved now, so may rise again, without them having to do any more trials. I’m hoping that our scientists have learned from our interim data and have done something similar, by incorporating elements of a stage 3 into this extended trial now, to propel us even further. Who knows?!

I apologise. I didn’t consider your questions in enough detail yesterday. I should have taken more time to consider them before replying.
The data that I saw was incomplete, as it was only interim data and also hadn’t been written up yet. I’ve checked it again and it does say that further analysis will be carried out on the data. So as they have conducted scans, then there will certainly be the capability to measure the size of the tumours, to indeed be able to see if they are shrinking from the scans. We are in the unusual and privileged position of being able to actually see a set of data before the end of the trial, due to the extension. In my view, this is a huge bonus for us, as where else would you be able to see which direction a trial is going in before the end?! So the scientists have the ability to make use of that, if they are so inclined, as that’s data showing a reduction in the size of tumours would certainly add to the endpoint regarding the efficacy and activity of 201. How much they make use of the interim data and use it to feed into the extended trial, we will only see in the results. If I had the data then I would certainly make the best use of it, so I’m hoping they will also. It all depends on how much they wanted to make this into a stage 3 trial at this stage, so the results could show that we are further along than we think. For me, a stage 3 would measure more frequently the impact of the drug upon the size of tumours, but they may have already considered this and factored it into the extension, thereby introducing aspects of a stage 3 into it. Who knows?
It’s hard to predict exactly what they have done at this stage, but we have an excellent base to go from. So reducing psa would indicate it could be shrinking tumours (Which we have seen evidence of at 4 and 5 mg/kg)...the extended trial gives double the dose at more frequent intervals. So who knows how much more of a positive effect that could then have?! That’s the million dollar question and the happy fact is that we know it was going in that direction from the interim data, which puts us in a uniquely fortunate position at this stage. Does anyone know exactly how long the extension ran for? As I haven’t yet looked that up and people who have been here longer than me will have a far better idea of the timeline.

Yes, as a scientist, funding isn’t really my area, which is why I was a bit vague. I wouldn’t profess to know, but tried to answer the question as honestly as I possibly could, regarding the next stages and how we would feasible get there and get to market. If you are a lth, I really hope you get your money back. It’s certainly a different prospect Here now than in the last few years.

Apologies! My intention is neither to ramp or deramp. I have to admit, that I was first attracted by the unusually low market cap (Created by the old management that some people here have done a brilliant job in removing to save this company), so I’m excited that this should have a long way to go just to become comparable with peers, which is where it should be. This should benefit us all here. The lth, who I’m hoping will get their money back at least, and the new investors too. To me, the market cap and current share price doesn’t reflect where we are in terms of the science and our products. Further than that, into making predictions, I genuinely have no idea!
