Thanks OB...I set the other half with this task today and he was going to pick up over the weekend, so we will reconsider that purchase. He’s very low on supplies in that shop now, so I gather people are beginning to think the same about gold and silver at the moment!

Really should have researched this more... ok, basically he has a krugerrand and six half ounce coins (No idea what exactly they are yet until picked up). He said he would do three sets of the two halves for the £1660 price per set, as well as the krugerrand for the same price. I thought they all came under the general term sovereigns, but clearly they don’t lol! Still learning (clearly haha), so from a quick google search, the krugerrand is subject to CGT?

And it’s been a crazy week so far, so Thursday is the start of the weekend, so gin is allowed, yeah?! ;)

I pushed for Bob in the last round of negotiations. Apparently there was a dog called Bob that attacked him when he was growing up. I need to start putting my foot down, I think... ;) advice on getting your own way would be welcomed here!

Valuefinder it is! Happy to be there for sure, the more I read up about it. Sclp is motoring too. I never get in anything at the right time, typical! We are doing so well here, I’m really excited to see what’s to come in the not too distant future :)

I have nothing to contribute to sp discussions as I don’t know enough, but just wanted to say that I’m really enjoying learning. Lots of knowledgable people here that have different viewpoints, to create a balanced board that regularly call it correctly on sp movements and plenty of other things about trading. Big learning curve for me from so many of you.

Let me correct that, it wasn’t clear.
It meant to say OUT of the drugs that fail a phase two, HALF OF THOSE fail due to poor trial design, implementation etc. So that’s 21% that fail a phase 2 due to these reasons and being nothing do do with the performance of the actual drug. I don’t explain myself very well at times! The same thing happens at phase 3, in that half of those that fail, are for to the same reasons.

The rate of drugs successfully progressing to phase 2 from phase 1 is 65%, with these generally failing due to not working in humans, as predicted by the animal models, or being generally unsafe in humans. We have clearly passed this hurdle, as stage 1 is about safety, tolerability and optimum dosing.
The rate of successful progression to phase 3 from phase 2 is around 58%, which is why I’m so pathologically fixated on the results so far. Half Decent results (as phase 2 is all about efficacy) will get you to phase 3, but there will be clues in the performance at phase 2 that tell you how well your drug will perform at phase 3 and beyond. Better results at phase 2 will attract more attention from pharmas, obviously. Now, it’s not quite as simple as how well the drug is actually working, as lots of drugs( maybe up to half) fail a phase 2 and indeed even a phase 3 due to poor trial design, implementation or dosing regimes, or even paperwork or meeting deadlines or recruitment for trials.
So nothing to do with how effective the drug is, but scientists can be brilliant on the theory, but then useless at actually conducting a trial and carrying out all the other things to go with it. Just a bit of light reading and a bit of background into why I’m so fixated on our results so far. Now, Adam Hargreaves is much more aware of all aspects of this than me and all the possible benefits and pitfalls in trials progressing. He WILL have studied the results so far, along with all aspects of this trial and where it is likely to go with our compounds on offer, before putting his money down for this gamble last week (I’ve touched on some aspects in my previous posts, but not all). You have to bear in mind that a big proportion of drugs fail clinical trials overall for the above reasons, and I haven’t started talking about a stage 3 being successful yet, as that is about your drug being better than the standard treatment currently used. Clues for this will already be in your phase 2 data. So...weigh everything up and make your own decision. How did I do at explaining this without putting in my opinion at all? Lol!

Cobalt I think you’re right. The sp movement today just doesn’t have the feeling of that kind of news being imminent.

I’ve been wondering about the wording of the company now with women’s health and early drug development . Be interesting to see if 201 has been looked into any more for breast and ovarian cancer...

Lol no worries. As you can see, I may be a tad feisty too ;) i thought you were saying I didn’t understand the results and as you probably know by now, I tend to get a bit riled up in that department! I know there’s a lot of sentiment here from people who want others to do their own research and people really should. At the end of the day it’s the equivalent to throwing your money into the wind and seeing if it comes back to you, if you know nothing about the company. I guess people look for positive signs in others, to make themselves feel better? Iceman hit the nail on the head last week with his post about looking up to others and their opinions, but at the end of the day, you have to make your own decisions here. I think SG was being sensible and doing homework before Investing over there in this particular case though.

I’d love to have your day, by the way...I have a very long drive out of deep dark Wales to pick Up a puppy. Probably stay away from Andrew Marr, would be my advice, although I know I’m going to listen to LBC or radio 4 and get wound up on the drive myself...;)

I agree with you bankfool, in that nobody should be basing their investment decisions on big shareholders. I certainly am not, although I do think that it’s a good sign to have big investors that are prominent scientists joining at this stage. So can see why that would give people confidence at the moment, but it should be nothing more than that. Would you really dump a stock to spite shareholders though? Seems a bit mean...

Sorry, I just spat out my tea laughing...I think you have misunderstood my post. I completely understand the results, but realise they are open to interpretation, so was asking for someone else to discuss them with me, who also had a science background. If you look back at my previous posts, then you will see that I’ve been analysing lots of aspects of them and trying to discuss them, which people have misunderstood as ramping or giving my opinions at times, as the 201 results are my main short term focus here. I probably came on too strong and have scared poor SG off now ;)

Thank you for that. I get the general gist. I’ll get up to speed on this a little more, regarding the details. I see why you’re asking about HH and the revenue from that arm, so hopefully someone here knows the answer.
I’d definitely take $2500 as a POG in the next year. Just keep thinking more and more, recently, that with the hammering the economy will continue to have due to this virus, then surely POG won’t go down from where it is now, at least...
