Wellington increased by 0.15% on 15th. world quant by 0.01% on 14th. 11.31% now who have 0.5% or more.

Feels like they are gradually shorting share back to a pound. Probably letting Marshall wace gradually reduce. Everyone here was saying they would lose millions here. They must of made a tidy profit here. Results will make little difference here. Pends what news the numbers hide.

@ Avery - Barclays are now showing £1.70. They have shaved 40p off their old target. I always thought it was ambitious short term.

Marshall reduced again today by 0.07%. Wellington increased their short by the same amount.

Yet the price is still below 2p. Looks like both were buys. I still think seller has shares left here. We could see this kick back off again. Otherwise share should be well above 2p here.

Still think it is one buyer in background. I may be wrong. See what results bring in 2-3 weeks time.

Yes if a takeover comes that will be pay day here for many investors. I wonder at what price the board would really be willing to sell at? The pound is quite cheap now making it easier for someone like Apple to gobble up the shares. You would still need 50% to take over. Or a 30% share at which point you are obliged to make an offer? Could happen I guess. T Rowe Price would want a premium price. No way they would sell at these prices.

TRP rice have been in this share for many years. I really doubt they have been acting for someone like Apple all these years.

Personally I think I would wait 1-2 years. If company is doing that well and you start meeting forecasts then the directors would make much more money. If the new research money finds new innovations it could add more money to IQE if they have more patents.Pends how much IQE patents are really worth to these major mobile players?

Really not sure what long term play T Rowe Price have here. Are they really holding shares for a takeover? What information have they from the company that others might not have? Fact is no one is coming in here with a new stake worth 5-10% of the firm. Some recent broker figures suggest £1.10 is a fair price. So many companies with opinions on IQE. Who is right?

Actually World quant reduced by 0.02% on 10th

T Rowe Price are up about 1.3% since March. They have also loaned out about 1.3% more since then. Of course they are just one holder of IQE shares. A couple of the funds here have increased. OppenheimerFunds being the other. They may just be taking up stock that other funds have sold off. As a few of the other funds have reduced. Hargreaves and Barclays being 2 of them.

I think results will be about future forecasts, The numbers have already been predicted and I doubt we will see many shocks here. They always were making money. Shorters may look at the numbers relating to the research and how the accounting has been done. There were some questions about this before.

See what if any other costs pop up here. Like all big news the shorters will likely wait and a few days later short any increase in the SP.

Were not just talking one firm shorting IQE. There are at least 11 we know about. With many more hidden at under 0.5%. What is it that these shorters know? Are they gambling on accounting errors or numbers that simply don't justify the current SP?

I can easily see how many are put off this share because of this.

The new shorter yesterday was Numeric Investors LLC. No changes recorded today. Been no holding RNS for 12-13 days too.

That being said IQE do seem to be at the centre of some of these research projects.

The money isn't going directly into IQE. It's going into a non profit organisation. It's not bad news for IQE either pending where the research goes.

GSA Capital Partners LLP reduced by 0.17% on the 8th. That was along with Marshall Wace on that day. So that is part of the reason for the SP to rise so much recently. Is this tactical or not who knows.

What we do know is at least 11.26% of shares are out on loan. Marshall Wace reduced by 0.05% on 8th. That is all shorters above 0.5%. My understanding is around 20% of the stock has actually been loaned out. Maybe this is less now.

What is interesting is we have had no RNS from Golman Sach or T Rowe Price in almost a week. Goldman had around 4-5% shares loaned out. Albeit I think they cleared them a week or so ago.

I think Marshall Wace will have reduced again today. I still think they will look to clear completely here.

Does seem to be a lot of automated trades today. Buys and sells. Let's hope for the people here IQE can maintain this rise. There is no obvious sign that the 11.24% of people above 0.5% are obviously clearing.

That link yesterday suggested IQE was at a fair price. So the current expected profits have been factored into the price here? Of course each broker seems to have very different idea on what IQE is worth. See what tomorrow brings.

Share seems to of picked up here. Hope it lasts. Strong results from the other firms can't be bad news. Weak pound might reduce margins here. Pends on contract terms I guess.

If this is shorters it could well be ones below 0.5%. As the shorts have not moved much in last week or so. It could be someone else selling. Many investors here. In any case SP up a few pence for the weekend.

It will need some major news to increase the SP here. You are pretty much awaiting for the results really.

Sec only raised £1,229,335.. This looks to be about a third of the money they planned to raise. Unless the directors plan to put in the rest of the £3m cash? See what they announce. No mention of this in the RNS.

Think this seller has a lot of stock still. Small sells depressing price. Even with the big buys here.

Goldman had 5.75% loaned out. They now have 1.25% loaned out.
They owned 0.85% of stock. This has reduced to 0.69%.

It would seem they have 4-5% of loaned shares that keep getting shifted around and keep reappearing. Unclear why.
