This news quickly got shorted. Share was up to nearly 110p at some point. Unless shorters pumped and dumped on opening. 2 large 500k trades went through this morning.

They just seem to short any news.

Actually this was an RNS-R. So it's non regulatory announcement aimed at helping distribute news to investors.

Sounds positive news but are they producing these instead of something else now?

They seem to have no issues picking up good orders here.

I can't see any huge ramp here till the new production facilities comes online. Not sure how much, if any is currently in use. The last update still talkied about acceptance testing, commissioning and qualification. Guessing the first stage may well ramp in H2?

They are talking a 40/60 split revenue for 2018. So revenue up 50% in H2?

They are still talking about switching productions. Meaning they are still limited by proiduction and having to make trade offs to meet orders.

I don't doubt they have the technology and opportunities but right now they are making trade offs here. On plus side they are still making reasonable profits. It's unclear what the costs of the new facilities will be and how this will impact the accounts. Wait and see I guess.

The shorters here clearly still doubt IQE ability to become a major player here. IQE need to be growing 40% a year to justify this SP. Long terms this share could do very well. Short term many of these financial organisations seem to be doubting IQE will pull this off.

The interesting thing with the shorts is Wellington reduce to 0.47% on 29th and then increase back to above 0.54% on the same day. So we do have a case of many shorts buying and selling just above/below the 0.5% mark to make money from this share. Colrane up 0.15% on Friday.

Looks like 2 senior staff and one non senior staff have left or got sacked. Guessing they are cutting back duplication now Redleaf and Newgate are merging. I wonder what cost savings they can make from this?

Of course I doubt they show all staff members on this page. Unclear how they decide who goes on this page.

Why is it HL/LSE site are not showing all RNS announcements now?

Nexexchange show all the RNS announcements for IQE. I have noticed this on other shares too. Is there a gremlin in the system?

I missed this from Paul Scott at end of May.
'Porta Communications (LON:PTCM) has put out a trading update. I've had a quick look at its most recent results, and the balance sheet is still a mess. Its reliant on loans from Bob Morton, so outside shareholders won't get anything. The equity is clearly worth nothing in my view.'

Not a great appraisal of Porta.

Nice to see Porta dealing with Xiaomi and their IPO in HK.

Overall Porta are burning cash and still making losses. I just hope all these cost savings are going to help turn the corner here. Maybe they could find a cheaper HQ somewhere too. Or share offices with SEC in the UK.

At present SP is falling and looks like some parties are still clearing stock here by these small test trades. Can't rely on Morton and Hales Hargreave to mop up all sold shares here. They need to halt the ever decreasing SP here and get new funds involved..

I guess the directors know something which we don't as there has been 1-2 buys recently. Maybe SP will recover once current seller has cleared? Maybe next announcement will be update on SEC with a reduction of loan costs.

So 2 of the top 3 shareholders here have loaned out nearly 10% of the company. Assuming other holders have not reduced here to allow Goldman Sach 6% stake.

If the company is worth so much why are so many funds shorting this share? Even at these prices there are some big shorts still increasing here. It's unclear under what terms some of these shares have been loaned out. For Marshall Wace it could be a case that they agreed a term of x months and are reducing for this reason.

You do have to wonder about the 140p share issue. Maybe this firm will prove itself eventually. Not expecting miracles in H1 results.

As expected Valliant short position up another 0.16%. Coltrane also up 0.1% on 26th. Shorts that we know about are just under 10%. I expect this to go above 10% given today.

Not sure this will go much below £1 here. Someone is buying up the sold stock. Lot of big buys today.

I really doubt they will announce anything major at this event. Any major news should normally come via RNS.

Maybe they have taken on someone else's shares that have been loaned out? There has been a lot of automated buy and sells here. Maybe they have been buying up stock sold by other stakeholders?

Shorts wise Valliant up 0.2%. Marshall Wace down 0.11%. All on 22/06/2018. Marshall Wace clearly reducing their risk here. They used to have 4.25%.

From previous updates the shorters have normally used these to reduce the SP. Some large buys coming in but the SP is still subdued.. Seem to be a lot of automated buys and sells going through.

Worldquant back to 0.5% on 21/06/2018. Shorts as declared at 9.63%.

I think some short positions would of reduced today when below £1. Marshall Wace still seems to be overall reducing here. See what tomorrow brings but I see no light at end of tunnel here. Many were suggesting this should of soared by now. Simply not happening.

Looks like a bit of profit taking in last few days. Looks like some of the exisiting fund have decided to reduce here.

You can never call it exactly when to buy or sell.

Far from shorts closing they actually seem to be rising.
Valiant Capital Management, LP have just reappeared apparently from 0% to 0.5%.
GSA Capital Partners LLP back above 0.5% at 0.51%.

Whilst shorts are at 9.13% I would guess there are many shorts just below 0.5%. Valliant and GSA clearly influenced the share price yesterday. I would expect another short position to appear on Monday or existing positions to increase. There was a 1m trade sell that went through yesterday.

Clearly Apple news has given the shorters ammunition here. They have still not forced the share below £1. I am not sure they will.

Marshall Wace down to 2.18%. Down 0.09% on 19th. To me this suggests other short positions are being opened here but have not yet reached 0.5%. That or existing shareholders have been selling here. The major shareholding page update did have some interesting changes.

So HK/ AUS and Redleaf share increased. This is the last issue for Redleaf. It also means both CEO have more shares. 'Of these 23,493,273 Final Option Consideration Shares, 21,158,042 have been issued to Emma Kane, Joint CEO of Porta and CEO of Newgate Communications Limited and Redleaf, and to persons closely associated ("PCAs") with her. Following this issue, Emma (together with her PCAs) is beneficially interested in 22,696,504 Ordinary Shares of £0.01 each in the capital of the Company representing 4.48 per cent. of the issued share capital of Porta.' Brian Tyson now has an additional 2,088,361 shares. Does make you wonder why EK bought nearly 1.5m shares before if she was due another 20m or so shares. Hopefully she will hold onto these now.

Couple of funds reduced on 14th. Marshall Wace and Wellington down 0.1%. Could see Wellington below 0.5% soon.
