Its a fact that the big thing GV wants from these negotiations is a very large sum as final settlement. The only way he is going to get that payoff is through negotiations with PFP and only with PFP. If this fails then he could lose in Moz high court and there is no other organization on the planet who will do a deal with GV. He has only one way out - do the deal or get nothing.

Negotiations here seem to be about only one thing - arriving at a middle ground at some point in time based on how much bargaining power each party has. PFP BoD has worked this tricky situation for 7 years now and father time is ticking over big time for GV (over 80?) If its about how much $$$ it will take for GV to fill his boots and move on and how much PFP is willing to give (via Asian funding?) then surely its just a matter of time before this is sorted out, but wouldn't common sense tell GV to move on sooner rather than later in his twilight years?

Maybe Hollywood will make a movie of it one day - I'll get going on the screenwriting and even if the SP doesn't rocket then I'll be ahead on the movie royalties!

That reads like, replace Trew and Bellingham and Pathfinder Mozambique (GV & Co.) will sign a deal - hooray! Thoughts anyone ?

I've emailed my support for Align. Something needs to be done to get this moving to conclude. To get to this point after 7 years is just not acceptable.

On re-reading the RNS the words "settlement and reasonable" have entered the fray. It appears to me that GV is asking for a high payoff but which has not (yet) been met by BoD. Gives me some confidence that this only about thing - what price GV is will to sign on or the Moz court makes a ruling in PFP's favor.

There has to be an amicable solution to all this - it seems to be wanting to be fixed but maybe its the all the mixed personalities around the negotiation table is the problem that needs to be remedied. I'll stay firm for an eventual positive outcome in 2018.

cash2 - Moz courts are back in session on March 1st so I would have thought that its a good possibility an outcome could be announced during that time. As announced in last RNS, with so meetings having taken place already you would think that closure on this is very close now.

RNS timing is definitely as a result of pressure from Align. I'm staying in on the view that licences will be returned eventually - hopefully by end of March.

Totally agree zapsnap - an outcome by end of March - highly likely to be positive in my view due to the win-win incentives for major players and maybe with an Asian player outright acquisition of PFP to send the SP rocketing.

Folks, there's a very high chance that Eduardo (and BoD) can get this deal through the door - he got his mother through the door to see the Moz president after all in 2016! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mvNePa3ewzU He's the son of the founder of the Frelimo party and Moz's first president who GV reported to during Moz's first independence government. This carries a lot of weight. Eduardo, NT and BoD can get this deal done and I'm convinced there's a big party coming for PFP stakeholders! So patience please.

I think that if a poor relationship between GV and NT was still an issue after all these years then surely the framework agreement would not have even been prepared and presented last October? I have all confidence in the BoD and Eduardo who has the key relationship on the ground with GV to get this deal done.

personally I would give it until end of March (so Moz courts having come back by then), to get a result in. If its any longer than that then I would be concerned in the absence of an RNS update on the state of play

Nic Trew, BoD and Eduardo Mondlane Jr have done a great job to get this far to the point where an out of court deal has been presented for sign off which will give a win-win outcome all around. All parties must have agreed in principle and had a willingness to do a deal when the discussions were taking place last year. Successful resolution must be very, very close now. Agree that an EGM now is not the way to go.

Messyaffair - my view is that the framework agreement would not have been discussed and presented (and money spent on lawyers etc), if all parties did not have a willingness to see an out of court deal through to conclusion. Everyone wins in an out of court deal, and the Asian finance world involvement speaks volumes for a positive outcome being announced here. Next RNS "Pathfinder is pleased to announce..." - it will come out of the blue, just a matter of when.

see last RNS about Singapore/ HongKong financial services company Linkwood Holdings PTE. They have been issued 3mil pfp shares for ongoing services rendered. Singapore is also a financial hub for mining investment. If next RNS is double good news of restoration of licenses and an Asian player acquisition of PFP then SP will rocket in my view - any guesses, 20p plus?

some sound speculation that I happen to agree with rooters. RNS evidence is that the Asian financial world is involved and when I read that it speaks volumes for a highly likely positive outcome here!

I would have thought that when licenses are restored then Asian capital (hence the Singapore investment company link), will fund the development of the mining concession first before any future outright sale

Cash2 - my view is that the alternative outcome is an out of court deal, simple as that. With this outcome then all stakeholders are better off, both politically and financially. For a framework of an agreement to have been presented in October there must have been a willingness from all parties to want to do this - its just a matter of time and we must be very close to closing this out.

a week and a bit left for a January RNS that goes something like, "PFP is pleased to announce" ...... will it happen?
