RE: Anyone had issues with Interactive Brokers?16 Apr 2026 10:45
Hi ArielArrow - I saw your previous message re holding these shares via HL - you should have a message in your account when you log in that details everything ( sent 9th March I believe) but basically it's a whole load of fees good ol' HL - not!!!....not sure if you can move just these shares out of HL & leave the rest of the portfolio as is... I also hold in IG and I haven't tried to sell any but you can see trading activity when the Aus market is open... GL
"The shares will continue to show in your Hargreaves Lansdown portfolio, but as the underlying custodian will be HSBC, or a sub-custodian of HSBC, there will be certain implications you should be aware of:
We’ll only allow sale instructions to be processed and all purchase requests will be rejected.
You’re now able to sell your shares on the Australian Securities Exchange. You’ll only be able to sell your shares over the phone by calling our Dealers on 0117 980 9800. Your order will be left to sell ‘at best’ during Australian Market hours. These trades are carried out by our overseas counterparty. The proceeds will be converted into Sterling, subject to the prevailing exchange rate at that time. Full details of our overseas dealing service are available here.
The following three charges will be applied to a sale:
Our telephone commission of £29 per trade.
Our overseas counterparty will charge commission of 0.35% of the overall deal, subject to a minimum of AUD200.00, which is currently approximately £105.
HSBC will also charge a transaction fee of £15 per sale."
