RE: How many TDL units sold?20 Apr 2018 10:23
The key to the freight guard is it does everything in 'real time' and can greatly enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the supply chain
The TDL110 does not do this - it is more individual product based - stick it on a pallet or box to record what happens to your cargo as it progresses through the supply chain - the freight guard allows you to make decisions along the supply chain
Here's a snippet
Supply chains of manufacturing companies are very complex. A great number of companies are involved in the processes with an even greater number of different IT systems. The result is nontransparent supply chains. The solution is Nexeed Track and Trace. With this holistic logistics solution, the freight writes its own digital logbook. Not only, does the freight transmit each station along the route, but also the present location and status are sent to the Cloud
at regular intervals. For instance, schedulers can view at any time where the freight is located and whether it can be expected to arrive in time. In addition to the location, data relating to temperature, vibration, and humidity is also transmitted. The logistician knows right away if conditions are not right for the packages
Here's my example:-
lets say you are transporting automotive parts from Germany to China, but there is an issue with one of your freights (DB cargo for example, have over 4000 trains operating) and half of the automotive parts will arrive now one week later than the rest of the shipment - you can make the decision to send the parts from another base or go along another route - to ensure the manufacturing process is on time and on schedule - this was not possible before
Or alternatively, the recipient can change their plans based on when the shipments will arrive - in real time.
not to mention all the extra features such as tilt, shock, humidity, temperature etc.
Its a massive game changer for the supply chain - and I expect all the big players to start using the technology
