AML borrowed £135m @10% coupon on Thursday in order to pay off previously borrowed money..Taking on debt in order to pay off debts,is commercial suicide.

Over the weekend, CEO stated they intend to sell off the remaining £5 billion of mortgages in next 36 months or so to concentrate on niche and specialised (high margin) lending..Yet they are pursuing opening selective branches..Just makes no sense..

The SP is down because all the pre tax profit is not from actual trading but rather just from cost cutting....The market is not fooled

Very disappointing trading from Metro plc..Almost all metrics are down from last year..The business model is weak,and meandering..All banks large and small,on LSE have reported increasing profits recently except Metro..

Difficult to know what profit the bank made on the sale,or how much extra cash it receives...The accounts show a loss of £100m,but that's not related to cash inflows..The company seems desperate for working capital,Hence the sale ...Banking analysts two months back have stated there will have to be another rights issue between now and next spring,to shore up it's shortage of cash flows..

The warning signs was a month back when two directors sold a huge amount of shares @£17...The big sell off seems to reflect that profits increases, will be slower from now on..Not going to see £19 SP for quite a while.

Triple negative whammy.

1... Lukewarm trading forecast for rest of 2024.

2...No bid materialised as yet.

3...Peltz the activist investor,stays silent as to his intentions.

Nothing to move the SP upwards.

This company's management is definitely not Learning,it seems.

Their strategy of keeping prices high,and quality of clothing low seems to be working..In a store recently,l noticed a hooded top l bought for £8.50 3.5 years ago is now just under double,but the stitching is just as poor as when it was cheap.Soon comes undone after 2/3 washes.

So why are the directors not buying shares at this low low price???

It's because expansion will need more capital,and therefore diluting rights issues in the future,which will suppress the SP..

Very mediocre set of figures today..They floated several years ago and SP has gone from 46p to 10p...Store openings were promised April but now it's September..Long term it's a buy,but short term l see SP going down to approx 8p...Very little news flow from this company and zero director buying...

Small caps are to be avoided until interest rates start to fall..Cost of borrowing,and therefore expansion or acquisition is unaffordable..Card Factory does not need finance but is caught up in the negative sentiment... You'll find excellent trading in next update,but after initial SP rise it will start to descend again..Small caps are off the menus last 4 years.

Non core,or perhaps the near £600m debt is unsustainable and the company was forced into a reluctant sale.

Cash received from todays sale,reduces the debt to £959m...A still staggeringly vast amount of debt to pay off...Draw your own conclusion.Can they trade their way out of the debt pile??There does not seem to be anything left to sell.

Reviving the sale of the £3billion mortgage portfolio,suggests a desperate need for cash flow.. Previous wanted £130m but only one bidder interested,and rumoured only offered £80/90m so sale withdrawn..Does metro bank have a viable business model to survive,l wonder.

Metro bank today announced they will charge 2.99% on all debit card transactions from abroad..If you take cash out from a machine it is £1.50 plus 2.99%....They are the only British bank to charge this extra fee..If you take out £500 charge is nearly £15...It's a sign how desperate they are for extra funds.

Bit surprised nobody has come in with a low ball offer..It's a modern,hi tec business tha.t would b am good bolt on for a larger international player..Yougov,to be taken seriously needs to move away from cowboy Aim and onto main market to attract institutions onto share register.

Previously stated intention to make Rev a billion revenue company in 5 years time..Come the year end results (26/06/24)and company state a slight decrease in 2024 year end revenue from the current laughable 191m revenue

I always thought that FTSE100 stocks were order driven via the SETS system..However this morning (28/06/24) a broker upgraded the company and on just 635 volume,the shares rose 134p..It just goes to show how market makers manipulate and the LSE shows scant attention to investor protection.

This company will next report a revenue and profit decline due to lower gas and electricity prices on international markets
