This is a golden opportunity for GDR to make a difference in the fight against covid. GDRs test detects the new strain (and all other strains). The new strain is already in europe and will replace the other strains as quickly as it has done in london. If you don't have salesmen in europe now, then make sure they exist by the end of today and that they start calling governments and hospitals tomorrow. If they don't release an RNS confirming the tests against the new variant is accurate then either GDR management is incompetent and they can't be bothered to release such an important RNS or GDR's covid products do not detect the new variant. So the question is, how long will it take for GDR to confirm their product also detects the new variant with equal accuracy and sensitivity?

If there was a perfect time to gain the ear of procurement departments , this is it. GDR must quickly confirm their product detects the new variant with as much accuracy as the original variant. The new variant is spreading throughout the world NOW and if it becomes the dominant variant AND if it render some current tests useless, then GDR should win plenty of contracts.

Mr bench as you are the true CEO of GDR (no , I'm not being sarcastic), GDR SP will either fall or rise depending on whether its current products detect the new strain too. This is a great opportunity for GDR , if the confirm it does detect the new strain. They should be working night and day on this. If it doesn, then GDR will need to develop a new test in double quick time because the competition has already hit the ground running eg novacyt news that it does detect the new strain.

hahah, that is a huge assumption! I'm behind GDR as an investor but I fear that their bark is far bigger than their bite. No sales and now the goal posts are shifting again. A great opportunity for many small innovative companies - GDR now needs to prove it belongs in the covid market place at all.

The lack of news from GDR regarding the new strain would test the patience of even the most optimistic investors. It's confirming our worst fears that GDR is a very slow-paced company, particularly worrying since its so small and supposedly, innovative.

Being a screening test, if the sensitivity and specificity are relatively low for the test then the results should be evaluated on the basis of confirmatory tests like PCR testing or western blot.
