Dug the thing is you still got this one wrong, you went as far as to disagree with those who pointed out that there was no evidence of OBD's involvement.

A week ago none of us knew this screening program even existed and OBD never released information saying they were involved, so can't see many people having invested simply because they mistakenly assumed OBD would be a part of it.

Whether OBD were involved or not for me the bigger takeaway is that increased public investment towards the diagnosing the disease can only be a good thing, and reaffirms how large the potential market is. Screening won't suddenly stop after this program, there will be many more worldwide, and if our PSE happened to be too new for this one, there's always next time.

It would depend on the reason for suspension. Shares can suspend for all sorts of reasons, not all of them bad, but there would have to be a preceding event which is the key part. But if it was due to administration for example, that would be terminal for shareholders.

The buy/sell markers on this website are highly inaccurate and should be ignored. The exchange themselves don't ever say whether something was a buy or a sell, probably because for every seller there is a buyer anyway. If the price went down today that could only mean net sells if you consider it logically.

If he feels compelled to comment on that transaction why couldn't he just fire off something like 'congrats to Hotel Chocolat, another British success story'. Would gives his dwindling fanbase some red meat to infer all sorts of magical things about what that means for THG takeover prospects, while also not being hugely negative about the country's exchange that he chose to list in.

Interested to see their first set of results next month, until then it's a bit of a stab in the dark. UK small cap market showing some green shoots but on the whole still the market is still a bit bruised, so could still take a while for demand to recover.

Bigger potential issue for me is that mergers always have those big execution risks, even when everything looks perfectly sensible on paper. The only indicator of how it's going so far is share price performance, and it's significantly lower than total of both companies' values pre-merger, which could mean it's cheap or that things have gone a bit t*ts up.

Cost wise even well before case they have those motions that have to be responded to, they've appointed this NYC law firm which can't be cheap. I doubt Wall is chipping in to these costs, and if it goes against them I can't see him personally paying anything. But he'll have reputational cost at least - on that front afterwards Argo could/should throw him under the bus, although given lack of strategy change since he left clearly he still has too many loyalists for that.

The other side have clearly invested heavily into their case so will be expecting a return, lots of drama to follow. So many aim directors get away with daylight robbery I much prefer the more muscular US approach to these shenanigans.

Agree sheltie, different opinions are what makes discussion interesting. The worst boards (not necessarily this one) are those echo chambers that are just full of rampers, who try to shut down debate, where posters become too timid to post something that isn't absolutely glowing.

OP's post might be a bit silly but that doesn't mean it should be censored. It's possible to be invested but not totally in love with everything about a company, that's pretty healthy.

Theeeeduke while I admire your optimism, imo the signal is that the process is at a surprisingly early stage, especially when in June they said they expected formal sale process was "expected to complete by the end of 2023". If we take them at face value that gives them 6 weeks to complete and therefore I would have expected them to be much further along.
