Oil isn’t only about fuel, thousands of products are made from it. When covid is over it will still be required for decades.

Products that are derived from crude oil are everywhere;
nearly all clothing and footwear, computers, medicines, paints, sealants, electrical supplies, cars, planes, chemicals ...it’s impossible in our lifetimes to mitigate oil products with something else unless we go back to living like a few hundred years ago.

oil isnt all about energy generation. its used for plenty more things. Like making wind turbines and Batteries

There are plenty of finds or crude now that as shale depletes, will come on line. The US I would imagine will look at places like Bahamas and Guyana, right on their door step .

I wouldn’t be so sure Keith1. The oil crisis has at it’s root the lack of demand caused by the virus and govt’s reactions to it.

When people quote a comparison with Middle East scale structures are you saying that there could be as much oil in the Bahamas as in The Middle East or are you saying that the Middle east is made up of many large oil containing strictures and Bahamas compares with a few of those?

I have been involved in Pilots where the client (me) manages to make the pilot almost a free implementation. Of course the service is paid for in the end, but pilots can and do morph into a rollout without doing the whole. Build - assess - remove process. If a software firm is keen enough to get the client company's name on their advertising they will be more lenient.
