Pray tell, what is the poor soul missing? Is he missing the fact that the company has yet to deliver a single product to anyone on a commercially viable business? Have a look at the last set of accounts, even the income supposedly generated is countered by some kind of refund in the form of consideration in kind.......ir is he missing the fact that the CEO has massively depleted shareholder value, given away shareholder value to its supposed primary customer, and rewarded himself with another bumper pay packet, and further share award, and even that is looking a bit snide on the basis that the terms have been altered from last year.....

It's a counterpoint view. I'm not saying that the fuelcell approach is dead in the water, just that there are alternative approaches. The hotswap concept has been evaluated, and has been shown to be viable on the small sites which only require the sort pf power that the current PT can provide, but whether it would be appropriate for larger sites where, for example EV charging is a requirement (I understand that the charge density achieved by the PT is insufficient to support realistic EV charging), the position is less clear.

I believe that H2 IC power is the more viable threat, because it relies on an adaptation of existing technology, and more importantly is being promoted by a relatively big hitter in the construction industry, admittedly they are focusing on larger units at the moment, but I suspect that the trickle down could occur....

You comment on the comparative cost of the tower and a 200Kwh battery pack......how can you comment on this when we don't know the cost of the PT?

Hot swap every hour? Where do you get that from? If the PT is rated at 10kw, then it will realistically only provide 7kw on demand for an extended period, so by me reckoning a 200Kwh battery pack would be able to provide the same power as a pt for about 28 hours, which equates to about 4 working days……question……what’s the refuelling requirement of the PT? Bet you don’t know, because that’s another thing we haven’t been told……

All this balderdash about JCB and hydrogen…..they aren’t using fuel cells, but hydrogen internal combustion engines…why? Because they did the research and found that in high demand scenaria, a fuel cell was unable to deliver sufficient charge, and current battery technology meant that the units would be suffering from Saturn 5 syndrome…..

Do you not think that, if JCB can develop an IC unit for an excavator, then a H2 powered genes would be a walk in the park?

On the basis that most of the units need some form of battery backup because they seem incapable of delivering the requisite charge on demand, and to produce the energy required to charge the batteries on a trickle charge basis requires the storage of hydrogen on site, why wouldn't a construction company that wanted to abandon diesel gensets not simply cut out the middle man, and look at battery storage on a hot swap basis?

Just because we have a possible solution to a problem, it doesn't mean that it's the de facto solution.....

You appear to have raised optimism to an art form………The amount paid by ABB was for the development of the unit…..it’s not the retail per unit…..that must be considerably lower otherwise the capex will be so high that the thing will be uneconomic…..you quote a figure of > £100k for the power tower…..compare and contrast with the price of a diesel genset of similar capacity, and hope that you’re wrong on the sales price, or lord help us we’re in deep deep doo doo…

Bit of a flaw in your reasoning, I fear......I suspect that a large part of the £4.0M (oh, sorry, I meant the newly improved £2.0M) contract with ABB related to the R&D costs associated with the product, and it's not simply a case of assuming that the further 9 units (if they ever get taken up, bearing in mind there's no actual contractual tie in) would be sold at the same price as the initial unit.....If this were to be the case, then the capex per KWH would be ridiculous, so I personally take the view that even if the 9 additional units were to be sole, then once the R&D costs are amortised, then the contribution to overhead is likely to be minimal.

Nope, you're wrong there, I'm afraid. So are you saying you are EXPECTING news of sales imminent then, or are you just making a point? If you are indeed EXPECTING sales in the next 28 days, are you prepared to show contrition if it doesn't happen? If you aren't expecting sales, then what, precisely is your beef with Garonne?

Can I just pick you up on one point.......what's all this "We expect" business? it's more likely "we desperately hope for......" On the basis the company coudn't even deliver successfully on the £4.0M contract without a massive giveaway, involving not only the share fiasco (which has never adequately been explained) but the offer of significant discounts on FUTURE sales without there being a contractual tie in, I think HOPE is the more appropriate phrase....
