First bought in 2011 and have held on through thin and thin. Not a lot of thick as it were.

Like so many with multiple bagging hopes this continues to go sideways at best.

The big one is Mankayan but I am living in a dream world if I actually get anywhere near my investment back.

But we buy small miners in the hope that one in 10 works out. GGP is in the portfolio and that's doing ok-ish.

We need financial support to get to the mining stage so either a JV or buyout of the resource is our best hope I guess.

We cannot bring this to mine ourselves, not enough clout.

Good news today so lets see how it pans out. Excuse the pun....

It is a odd thought that occurred to me regarding the future expansion of The Patterson Region.

We all agree I expect that there is some startling potential in the GGP portfolio , all we have to do is find it, and the whole Region is full of enthusiastic JV's and small explorers all hoping to find the motherlode.

If Newmont buy Telfer and Havieron , with its hopefully soon to be announced increase in MRE, it will leave GGP as a very rich explorer. Not what our Board of Directors has been assemble for it seems.

What are our other options for becoming a producer / explorer rather than just an explorer. Telfer seems to be our main hope of processing any other ore we find as Havieron and the existing Newcrest ore will not keep it busy enough to maintain its maximum throughput.

So I ask again - do Newmont bother to explore or are they reliant on others to find the ore and then they sweep in and sweep up?

Not for widows and orphans but the possibility of a takeover is why I have overbought here.

With the Newmont purchase of Newcrest and the opportunities of being so close to Telfer (which is desperate for ore ) means that one find of any sort at Red Setter will up the potential enormously. Gold or Copper or both please.

My fear is that we might be taken out before we find anything and the price will be way off the ALH of 17pish.

Normally a leak (excuse the water reference) would cause the activity we saw yesterday and obviously everyone expected positive news. Now its unusual for those with such deep pockets to be wrong about the tone of the RNS that they were expecting. If I was a suspicious man - which I am not normally - I would think that we have had a nudge nudge - wink wink type blurt out on a totally different topic and this RNS has blindsided many who were thinking they were ahead of the game.

So much more news to come that I think this is a bit of a red herring and Shaun has to report it before Newcrest do.

Tomorrow is another day but it will be interesting whatever happens.

Still want Newmont to come back to Ernest Giles with a JV after they abandoned us all those years ago.

A question for the knowledgeable

When Newcrest is removed from listings is there a rebalancing process of all the gold funds to account for the departure of a major shareholding or does it just rebalance under Newmont ??

Interested to understand if anyone knows

It would not surprise me if this is no1 of a few rapid RNS releases.

SD knows this will dampen enthusiasm and may well have more to say on other projects very shortly!

Like so many others invested here it makes watching paint dry quite exciting. (Either Matt or Gloss)

I know many don't trust Harry as far as they could throw him.... be Woke now.... but he must be credited with contractual stamina if nothing else. Having had the vision and the patience to push the project this far he makes it a Sisyphean task on our behalf. (Look it up if you must - I had to)

Tulu Kapi is a reasonable potential to get us to a sensible share price and for most of us it would give us a small profit and for many that would be bail out time with a sigh of relief.

However despite everything I still believe that SA will be a far bigger money spinner for us all. Oil revenues are looking iffy so I think the switch to mining is a move SA have to make and at least there we are a junior partner of a massive , well connected organization.

So for me and my many investments starting back in 2010 I am going to hang on until the end game.

Each to their own but sometimes you just have to grin and bear it.

Understandable reaction to yesterday’s fiasco.

Rather to many big buys for P&D I think but we shall see.

Results due within 20 working days possibly so perhaps a bit of T20 gambles made?

Who knows- any sign of PM from results will be exciting

On such a weird day it’s bizarre to see the last few reported trades.

Once again hugely outside the normal range so there is definitely something known somewhere which we may find out tomorrow??

Trading slowed to a halt on both exchanges at the moment it seems.

That second large trade looks like someone taking their investment out and running the profit of about £7k for the duration.

Very good move as any profit is good. Lets hope news arrives in good order without any dodgy scamming going on.

More trades on Aquis not recorded here. MM's doing a good job of holding it at current levels.

I recall the good old days when it rocketed to 17p in no time at all.

Just spotted that. Quick dabble with small stake to add to the overload I already have.

Very confident by someone with more money than sense or more knowledge than the rest of us.

With drilling progress being made and results awaited at least we don't have the attempt to exaggerate the value of the core extracted - as we did last drilling.

I suspect there was a slapped wrist last time showing what was obviously fool's gold in an attempt to pump the share.

I may be wrong but at least this time we have avoided that embarrassment.

Results will come in their own good time and an opportunity to add a few more shares at a very low price.

Equally interesting is the almost complete takeover by Newmont of Newcrest. When that dust has settled and the GGP/Telfer future is resolved we may well see some acquisitive actions in the area close to the Telfer processing plant.

They need ore now as they are running on fumes and GGP will not fill that gap.

Watch this space in due course.

Bit too windy to go fishing so I have sat and read the "bored" board today.

So much time spent putting forward various possible scenarios about what Newmont plan to do and how Newcrest were "very naughty boys2 etc.

A thought came to me as I wondered why I did not sell out at 30p+ and it revolves around the fact that Newmont know as much about EG as anyone does!!! They were our original JV way back when 2p was an exciting share price.

I assume they still have their results somewhere despite the fact that they pulled out after 6 months I think. Do they know something and are not telling????

Anyway thanks Paddy and HopefullyGold for the X info and the reminder that the work continues at Havieron....

Just as it does at all our other tenancies.

All we have to do is wait and when I can add more to the pile of golden tickets.

I cannot recall how many drillings have yet to be reported at Havieron and I have no chance of recalling all the other projects but I am confident that SD and his team are not sitting around scratching their bottoms like we all are.

Chill out guys and just wait. All will be well when those trucks start rumbling down that lonesome (but now built) road.
