So Market cap hit around £20 billion during the 2020 pandemic highs, based on the current number of shares in issue that's around £24 a share today. So whilst there has been some dilution since then, there's clearly scope for some pretty high share price numbers if things go well for the company in the years ahead - although it'd probably take another lockdown to see anything like £20+ again.

Does anyone know what market cap was during the 2020 highs?

It'll take time for the company to recover from the divi payout. That's quite a lot of money to be leaving the business and the economic outlook is awful. So whilst I'm sure it will eventually be back above £1.15 it's unlikely to shoot back up imo it's more likely to crawl back up if anything.

The market appears to be reacting negatively to the dividend payout? How long before the company makes that money back given the tough economic outlook?

Has shares in issue increased at all since the 2020 pandemic highs? Just curious as to what market cap was back then?

Strange when you click on short positions, in blue bar it says there are no open short positions in Asos?

Share price is currently around half net asset value - clearly undervalued. Right now, due to the relentless daily falls investors may be choosing to stay away. If it suddenly shot up however, those same investors would be scrambling to get in knowing based on net asset value alone there's upto 100% potential upside to be made. I think this fall into oversold territory is all about generating interest - they're dropping it with the intention of taking it right back up again, thus generating a lot of interest and guaranteeing that if there is a rights issue, most will be eager to take it up.

What would get people flocking back to boohoo and asos and away from Shein? Lower prices. That's about it. People will pay a bit more for quality but especially in the current climate, he who has the lowest prices and still manages to deliver on a good range of fashionable clothing and accessories - wins. It's going to be difficult or impossible to compete on pricing so can't really see the boom days coming back for either company anytime soon, sadly.

I'll keep this on my watchlist for now. Good luck to all who are invested here, I may buy at a future time but I'm far from convinced atm this is the undervalued golden opportunity some are making it out to be.

Is it extreme lowball though? It's more than double what the actual physical nuts and bolts of the company is worth? Over £1bn of the current market valuation is based entirely on hopes and dreams of what might be one day? Where's the margin of safety in a share price that's nearly 4x more than NPS?

It seems a lot of high hopes are priced in to the current share price? Nearly 4x NAV warrants an explanation for any of us would be investors. If all goes well in the years ahead, maybe the upside potential warrants the huge premium on NAV but I'm far from convinced this is currently the undervalued stock some would want us to believe it is. With a NAV half that of market cap this could just as easily fall a lot further, hence why the shorts are on it no doubt.

So in other words, market cap is DOUBLE the net asset value of the company? Or to put another way, the market currently values Ocado at just over £1 billion more than the total net asset value of the company. And we think £2.50 a share is way undervalued? Really? Why do we think that?

I'm reading NAV per share just under 62p? Versus £2.50 share price? Is that correct?

What's the NAV figure /NAV per share? Anyone?

John Wood has quite a bit of debt on its balance sheet ($690m at the end of 2024). According to analysts at Kepler Cheuvreux + the company may need to raise $400m from investors to stay afloat. It seems the cheapest option for any potential buyer would be to wait and see if it ends up in administration and then buy the assets from the administrators at a bargain price?

I'm far from convinced this government is anything other than a disaster for our country, but with a high likelihood now that the war in Ukraine will officially be ended within a matter of weeks, we should at least see a huge "yey the war is finally over" bounce for stocks all around the world, when it happens. Pretty much everything is likely to move significantly higher, at least in the short term, whether they stay there or flop back down remains to be seen though.

the chances trump will get the war ended are, i would say, near 100% likely. i'm not sure what it'll do for uk stocks longer term being we have this ****show of a government running the country, but an end to the war would see global markets bounce hard including ftse at least for the short term. could be on the cusp of a big rise here in the coming weeks.

The UK should put TARIFFS on Chinese companies and encourage manufacturing in the UK. If it suddenly became expensive to buy "made in China" the exploitation of child slave labour there would end and buyers would choose to buy British. If only we had a government that puts the UK first instead of doing everything to impoverish us and put China first.

There's enormous pressure on the government to get housebuilders building. I couldn't agree more this labour government is appalling in every sense, but they will be forced to do what needs to be done over the coming months. The one sector in the UK that has a bright future is the housing sector - demand for new homes will remain strong for a very long time. Margins will increase / decrease as they've always done but demand isn't going away.
