George Frangeskides, Chairman at ALBA, explains why the Pilbara Lithium option ‘was too good to miss’. Watch the video here.
I think most here would agree with that statement.
This is a great business at identifying great tech with great business potential. But obviously, they've failed over and over under this leadership, suggests to me that they're are top academics but poor business minds. Bell' is a great example, loads of potential in a huge market and look at where it is now. I hope I'm wrong but I wouldn't be surprised if we see the same performance from Microsalt unless the talk of orders comes to fruition soon.
The number of times I've read here that the charts suggest this and now is a great buying opportunity. We've had a buying opportunity for two years now, but it never turns into an opportunity to make some significant profit.
Some major leadership and business model changes have been needed for a while. The self salesmanship and self-promotion needs to end, communication improved and a clear path into profit. This board would have been sacked by now in any decent size corporation.
Let’s hope so, we can’t all be wrong surely.
My go to investment in these situations is usually GAW. That seems to follow a certain pattern over the year and fluctuates between 9-12£, I try to catch it at the low point which is usually a month after a divi is released and then sell just before the next announcement. It’s worth a good 10% twice a year but I’m just sitting on my current investments for now and hoping this stock reverses. Dangerous investing too much obviously.
Sea, I’m heavily down on my investment in Tek and Bell and although one approach would be to cut losses and go elsewhere I’m kind of the opinion that I’ve I’ve been here long enough to hope for at least reducing my losses. I like the tech and the potential but I’ve had my fingers burnt so I haven’t invested in MS but hoping for a reverse in fortune.
I’ve always done well in the past on investments and I must admit this is frustrating as, like I say MS has legs if they get it right this time and I’m still baffled with the Bell situation as I thought that was a banker! Let’s see but with some luck we’ll see some improvement.
My info is considerably more expensive. Conventional salt is ridiculously cheap as an ingredient so it wouldn’t be hard to be that much more but I don’t have specifics.
Obviously, everyone in the supply chain is under pressure to cut costs. Healthy or not!
TC - I'm sure that a global business of this size has enough expertise to 'factor in' that point. However, if the MS price is 2/3/4x conventional salt its a significant increase and that is an obstacle.
Pikeman, yes agreed. But, to get it into the market and to achieve higher volume to get price down requires those initial orders most likely to be at very reduced or zero cost. I also understand why the management wouldn't want that so to protect price but from what I understand there was no room for negotiation in this case so the customer walked away. At the moment salt is very much a commodity and costed as such, Microsalt is a considerable cost increase. I hope it succeeds and becomes a std in the food industry but its not as simple as some here seem to think.
Lord, you always provide a good leveling argument against the often over inflated positive here.
There's value in what you say re; feedback on flavour/taste and failure of alternatives and this should not be discounted and lessons. However, for me if there is a barrier to this being accepted I expect it to be more cost related. Regardless of some of the recent posts cost remains a huge driver even for the premium brands. I know of one major supplier to the fast food industry who has rejected Micro Salt on cost. If legislation changes then that changes things completely but even then there are different ways of approaching the problem, such as the sugar tax. Most drinks companies simply reduced packaging formats to avoid or reduce the risk. Time will tell I guess but for the first time in what seems forever its great to see green on the SP charts although even with the recent increases its still FA compared to where we were when most bought into the potential.
Well said! So much BS posted on here.
At the end of the day it’s the SP that speaks and is our measurement of success and so far failure.
As someone recently said here ignore the few posters who continuously promote themselves and their opinions and focus on the facts ie SP and deliverance of promises.
Mmm your arrogance has no limits and your lack of applying any thought to my previous post highlights your shortcomings TC. You don’t think I may have been in a hurry, perhaps someone waiting or somewhere else to be? I admit I’m no chemist but I was simply hoping someone had researched these products and could help my understanding.
I also did well enough in my field to retire from corporate life at 45 and since then my ROI on a number of stocks has averaged 36% per year so although I may seem to be justifying myself to your continued arrogance and rudeness I have been reasonably successful.
Big/Vet
Spot on!
I have a lot of experience in similar businesses based on R&D tech and these remain great ideas and potentially businesses but the board seem to continue with an R & D mindset ie spend spend spend and eventually it’ll come together. Add to that the age old promises to keep our attention ie SD and billion dollar companies.
Recent recruitment aside, it’s time for a change at the top and some hard assed business leaders to take the helm.
Interesting to see some of the blind belief posters here even recognizing the issues here now.
I’m sticking with my investments as I still think there’s some great value here but as one of you said, delivery is well over due.
Thank you Lowlander for the detailed and educated opinion. For the record it wasn’t your response that I considered arrogant.
At the end of the day we all want the same outcome but it’s very frustrating reading the same old same old over confidence when all people want is educated opinion rather than salesmanship.
Thx again
I know my investments my questions were directed at the competition.
I noticed these alternatives in the store and my questions were asking about these competitive products ie Has anyone researched these? Tried these etc? Rather than simply accept the Tek claims.
I must admit I’m amazed at these arrogant responses and the assumption that because I ask the question I don’t know where I’ve put my money. Perhaps thinking about why I’m asking and keeping an open mind would be more appropriate!
