Woodstock - I agree or at least its presented in a way that almost implies a backward step. But there are some nuggets of new news in there.

The Home Trial has been officially started for one so you could be enrolled as of today.
COPD trial has been allowed to finish with only 109 recruited and data can be unblinded.
We can dose the most vulnerable people over 50.

But people are really latching onto the July delay and only 98 rcruited, and I get it delays are always disappointing.

Seems to me you where implying you could second guess a double blind placebo trial?

I'm the first to admit I haven't been here as long as others bio tech was not my area of interest but it has got more relevant and interesting to me personally recently.

You have some fairly rampy posts yourself in your post history on here from periods when you where obviously invested I guess that sentiment doesn't suit your song sheet currently.

I'm not one for personal attacks i'll happily engage with you to debate facts and theories but lets leave the I've been here longer than you rhetoric to one side, it's meaningless.

You are trying to suggest that a significant number of trial patients are worsening, the global stats don't support this.

Post some facts rather than speculation and I will engage with you.

Here's a fact for you we now have approval to recruit High Risk 50+ year old patients outside of the hospital setting. That's a massive vote of confidence for the safety of the drug.

notnow - I can understand and do sympathise with the mindset of those selling, I can think of many scenarios why they may wish to, off of the news today. None of those reasons have any bearing on the outcome of results.

The share price will move up again when we see an influx of new buyers which will be delayed marginally by todays announcements but come mid June people will be taking their positions.

All of us LTH's here will just have to sit and wait some more there should be some good articles appearing this week to entertain us.

We must have safety nailed if we are allowed to dose high risk patients up to the age of 50.

The over 65 extension also allows us to access a subset of people in car homes.

This is really good news for those effected and us.

How do you define no one getting better? The mortality rate of the virus indicates that a significant number of the 98 on the trial will have survived. I hope for their sake all 98 did.

What the trial will show is if our drug helped speed up that recovery and reduce any lasting damage.

Rich - You cannot second guess a double blind trial.

At home Trial is not a reaction to perceived hospital trial performance it was the original intention of the company.

The hospital trials was a necessity for many regulatory reasons and was designed specifically to exclude those in the later stages of Covid infection.

The company knows their drug and have given it the best opportunity to produce pleasing data.

The stringent trial criteria is contributing to the relatively slow recruitment to the trial. It has got harder to fill with the reduction in infections and the number of other trials all competing for the same pool of patients.

I’d be concerned if I was invested in a share that started recruiting later than Synairgen they might not fill their trials.

Especially if at home prevents patients ever getting to the hospital setting.

As I said before moving to at home is in tune with where this crisis is now happening.

Late start for me this morning so just catching up.

Have to say I’m a tad disappointed having initially read the RNS. On reflection I’m not sure this is fair but the two things that produced that reaction was late June is now July and we are not yet at 100 patients recruited.

I’m sure many feel the same which is why it feels a little bit like we are treading water.

But having digested the news there are some really good bits of info in there.

We have approval to read the COPD data early essentially our trial is now 209 patients in the hospital setting with suggestions that some efficacy data can be shared across the trials. Safety and bio markers can be compared. Results in summer (July, August).

At home trials have started! I think this will generate some good news flow during the week if we start to hit care homes we might get some traction.

July will be here sooner than we think let’s hope we find this last two patients soon.

Goose - What you are alluding too is also why I find our involvement in project DRAGON so intriguing.

I think we very much are being viewed as drug that could be used by many as a preventative.

gkb47 - 2000 cases per day but not 2000 hospitalisationS per day. Moving to the at home delivery of the trial is in tune with the current situation.

I think most trials are still only authorised to recruit in the hospital setting.

Jackman, Nojjer - Agreed. As the number of Covid cases drop the importance of getting the hospital trial set up and recruiting early is really coming to the fore.

We are likely to be the one of if not the first placebo controlled phase 2 trial to present a data set.

Unless a significant second wave heads our way it will become more difficult to fill these trials, look at the COPD trial that has spanned several virus seasons.

The hospital trial only needs to show a small effect and this will act as a launchpad to pushing this drug into the next stage. Turning a process that normally takes years into a matter of months all thanks to a bit of luck and quick thinking by the company.

The at home trials are likely to be a slower burner in the background but the data could be very favourable.

Nojjer - if you are looking for feedback on the science the real expert exists on the ADVFN board there is some really good debate happening there around all of these articles that keep cropping up.

One point on the suggestion that ‘at home’ is an afterthought or a reaction to perceived progress of the hospital trial.

I simply do not see this as the case.

The Hospital trial is a must, to ensure that data collected is robust and stands up to scrutiny. The amount of data such as bio markers, sputum samples etc collected during the hospital trial will far exceed the data collected during the at home trial.

But from the outset the company new getting to patients early was the key that’s why they set strict entry requirements on the hospital trial hence it’s taking longer to fill than other trials out there.

The at home trial is logistically complex and would not have been given the go ahead without some form of proof on safety of the drug in Covid patients. Add to that the complications with ramping up testing for people outside of the hospital/lab setting it’s clear that when we announced the initial trial the at home route was not viable.

I look forward to the results in June when some of these questions can be put to bed with the accurate data the company is collecting.

Trek - Think we are on the same page here.

I can see the drug being used Pre-emptively as a stand-alone.

Early in the infection cycle either alone or as a combination of treatments.

Post infection to manage whatever long lasting damage may be left behind.

If we can get there early enough we might be able to avoid the up-regulation issues all together.

The real money is in the pre and post hospitalisation treatment use case.

I take a day off from the board and everyone is squabbling like children again! Enjoy the long weekend and spend it doing anything that positively contributes to your life.

To address a few of the comments I've seen being thrown around today here are some of my own opinions for your consideration.

Low Volume/ Lack of interest - Thanks for whoever pointed out that 200 trades in a day is good going for pre covid trading. We would all do well to remember that this company has been working at this for a long time and there are many here that have been invested on that journey with them, if they could share their source of patience i'm sure a few of us could use it.

Remembering back to when the first trial announcement hit the market and then the first dose RNS came there was a real buzz about the board which was great and the share price trucked it's way up to the 70's. There was a lot of talk about 8weeks for trial duration i'm not sure the source of that info now as it's certainly not in any RNS, but I was certainly guilty of referring to it. I think that incorrectly set the expectations for a lot of people to expect news about now, so I'm sorry for my part in that.

Once the realisation sunk in that actually 8 weeks might be more like 12-15weeks, combined with the offloading of Lansdowne the fizz started to disappear and well we are where we are.

In the meantime there has been some excellent research and a continuous stream of good news about Interferons specifically in the fight against C19. I challenge anyone to find a reputable piece of research from the last few months that suggest Interferons will not work for C19.

The only thing I have seen that comes close is the question about timing of drug delivery during the infection cycle, if timing and perhaps dosage is the only thing we have to worry about that doesn't sound to bad to me! Both of those are tunable and having both the hospital trial and soon the at home trial we should have the data we need to discuss this.

I'm starting to think of SNG001 like oil to a car you don't want too much but at the same time the effects of having not enough is catastrophic, we just need to calibrate our dip stick to know when to top up.

The upside on this share will only be realised on trial data I think we all understand that, I have confidence that the company is collecting the data in a manner that will ensure the result if positive is bullet proof. We won't end up in a situation where we make a claim that gets shot down because the trial was poorly designed, they've told us this is important I think we have seen examples in the news that shows us this is important.

The fizz will return here in a couple of weeks late to the party you will pay more.
