Hey Loggy, I think it’s due to it not being an official ASX listing. Their real mcap is closer to £80bn. Think it’s leftover from the Newcrest buyout as some Aussie thing.

I was in ECR a long time ago. They never did what they said they’d do, so got out and haven’t looked back. Not sure I’ll jump back in with those numbers.

And yeah, I was just thinking that, markets like certainty, holding gold in the vault would kind of be like gambling for the company. Selling it is definite, and funds, institutions and large shareholders like definites.

Hey Speedie, maybe, maybe not. The point was merely that having either cash or stored gold is principally the same thing in terms of a buffer for mitigating future downtime/downturns etc.

Hey Lee, if it’s just for that then having it as cash is exactly the same thing. If production numbers fall, the share price and value of GGP drops. Having x amount of cash or x amount of gold in storage won’t prevent the share price dropping. If it’s just for operating cash then it’s much easier to use actual cash than have to sell gold to then get money for operating.

At the TH Shaun’s reply was “We have enough gold storage underground, we don’t need to store anymore.” (Or similar)

I do have one though for others. At nearly a billion in cash in our accounts, interest must surely start helping too. Banks would love that account. Even at base rate of 3% a month (I know it’s usually yearly - but for large accounts, they usually offer premiums?) that’s another 300m a year for us.

Producers are judged and valued on their production numbers, not the amount they’ve sold. Otherwise it would be too easily manipulated by them throughout the year. Having that ‘buffer’ as a few have said won’t be to cover any downtime in production. Could be there to cover any future standing orders buyers have in place with us. Or it just could be spare gold 🤷‍♂️

I agree about the new Telfer MRE. Might possibly be the most important release GGP has made since the Havieron 100% deal was released. Cmon Shaun!! Show us the Money!!! 💪

Rincon? God that’s not even worth like 1% of our mcap. It didn’t even move THEIR price and that’s saying something. Pennies in the pound that. GGP will be doing a hell of a lot more deals in the near and far future. We will be buying companies outright and paying them to drill for us. It’s a new dawn for GGP. We are now the hunters.

sage…clogau is a dead duck. that’s the reason i bought in around 5/6 years ago. alba were on bbc news and everything, including all the papers. welsh gold was the next big thing…yada yada yada cough cough, oops they couldn’t sell it back then when good was like $2000p/oz. now gold is closer to $4500p/oz they still can’t sell the ****. forget clogau.

we use to own amitsoq too, then they decided to divest it as they wanted a smaller portfolio. now they’re plugging a new greenland target!! 🙄 what happened to a smaller portfolio? the new greenland target will probably be divested into another “new company” for george to milk more free shares from. clueless bull**** springs to mind with these guys. rinse and repeat!

Don’t quote me on it, but I think Shaun has previously stated we won’t be going into the man index as it then restricts certain Aussie funds/pensions from purchasing GGP. We don’t want to shrink our possible institution buying.

Yep…and when we were in the 20-30s there were people coming on the GGP board to tell people that, but there were people just like you who kept insulting and dismissing them. When the big boys get involved, true value will always win in the end. They never overpay.

Hey Doc. Yeah I looked into them quite a lot more since we chatted about them last time. It’s a strange case.

Not saying we couldn’t do the same but it is an outlier in general mining circles. It already has an mcap that equates to a Tier-1 find which is amazing, but also means a lot of future growth seems priced in. There is also talk of takeover which also inflates mcap, but the most important factor I found was the actual board. They seem to have history of competence in mining and as such “can be expected” to do it again.

No reason we can’t do that too, but it is an outlier. We shouldn’t base our own case on them.

Still ramping away I see Nap…keep dreaming mate, it’s what keeps us healthy 👍 max 200-300m mcap for a deposit still in the ground without a pathway to production. £3-5 is in the billions but keep trying to lure buyers in. Helps me out anyway.
