Morning, Simon,
I partly understand your viewpoint and based on what you've said, if someone bought £10k of shares at £4, then they would own 2,500 shares.
If you took the dividends as cash, then that would generate £500 per year.
5 years worth of dividends, and you'd have earned £2,500 in cash and, you'd still own your original £10k investment!
All the best.

My average is £1.11.
Surely this company offers a lot for folks like me who have a low average such as this.
Anyway, let's keep the Christmas spirit alive peeps....
ATB.
Well, they haven't hung about buying sizeable tranches of their own shares.
I've noticed SHELL are also going through (a much larger) buyback, but they've also offered to buy shares back from investors.
Does anyone know how that works and or why it's different to our buyback?
Regards.
Craigb,
My average is £1.55!
I've got just over £30k in here. More exposed than I'd like but the dividends keep this attractive.
I should take my dividends as cash, and slowly reap back my investment but I appreciate compounding is the more strategic approach but at what point in your life do you think you should start taking back.
Our mentality is to save, save, save, but when do we live and enjoy it?!

Pats,
You say you've split your divi by 50/50.
How did you manage that? I presume you've asked your broker to only reinvest half and or you took half out before the automatic reinvestment?
Nonetheless, I like that approach.
Doh. Sorry about the double post!
And, I'd like to celebrate with my £88.13 dividend...
A slap up Wetherspoons meal is on the cards!
All the best.
Crikey.
Mine hasn't been paid in yet!
Hargreaves Lansdown don't seem to cough up until the final bell of the day.
That said; I only have £2k invested here so I'm not expecting much!
All the best.

The ballooning interest rates are going to cause an element of havoc with our debt, and if the management want to protect their generated profit, then then may look to do a placing and flood the market with more shares.
I certainly hope not, but we don't want our profits, which are in line to increase, to be immediately paid back out to cover the debt and higher rate.
The above is only my inner fear. I've invested in tui so regardless of my potential woes, I see a good recovery over time.
Have a pleasant Bank Holiday weekend all.
