The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
Just thinking... In this day and age, when the majors need to rely on the minor explorers to find new resources... if they tried this, no minor explorers would ever trust them again. Trust and reputation means a lot, I would have thought. Could they really afford to do this? I don’t know. Is it worth damaging your reputation?
I thought basal lll was getting implemented in Europe on the 28th of June, and January the 1st for the uk. I think there are many clauses to basal lll which have been delayed, but not the part referring to Gold. That’s what all the recent articles are stating. This post is the first indication to the contrary, although other posters have mentioned this in the past. Anyone know for sure? Thanks :)
Took me 3 weeks to transfer my pension from Standard life to HL. That was for a cash transfer. They said it could take 5 if you are transferring shares. Hope this helps :) The waiting period is hell, when doing this. I missed out on sub 20p by one day. Best of luck.
Lol.
Thanks, guys :)
I really am not bothered about where the share price is today, funnily enough. The mind just boggles what they are playing at. They are seriously painting by numbers here... “this I where this share should be at this stage of the process” ... ya da, ya da, ya da.
Role on September!!!!
Right, a joke’s a joke. If this company, ultimately is not valued on the price of gold and copper what is it valued on? Yes, it’s still in the ground, but gold and copper are going sky high. I’m in this for the long haul, but... Seriously???? How do they get away with this?
Hi there,
I've been watching loads of youtube vids and reading up on Basel iii. During my research I found this short vid which I thought kind of answered some questions for me. I also liked the presenters view on where he thought gold was going at the time, and how it did go there. I believe Basel iii kicks in at the end of June.
Apologies if it's already been posted here - probably 2 years ago :)

Sorry, didn’t mean to come across as terse. Typing while I walk :) I’m in this for the long haul - 3 to 5 years at the moment. I wish everyone the best, and I hope you all eventually do well here. GLA
I’m a scientist, by education, now working in a financial institution as an IT manager. I believe in science, and so I like the Lassonde curve and think it speaks volumes. I might be very wrong, but give or take 5p, we are probably round about where we should be on the curve just now. Basically we’re in the trough before the next rise. If I had studied the lassonde curve before Scally results were released, I would have sold the second the results came out. Why? Because they were the main reason IMHO why the share price hadn’t plummeted after the MRE. Now Scally is is no longer a factor in the share price, so we are back on track. I believe the MMS are painting by numbers... and they are following the curve. Gervaise still has 35 million shares. I think that should also speak volumes.
I moved one of my pensions here, mostly down to research, but being honest, partly down to Gervais’ comments and actions on leaving the company. I am fine that he took out half his holdings. The fact he still has 35 million shares invested comforts me. If this goes to a £ or more it means he will be minted. How rich does the man want to be!!! And as the old saying goes... a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. He has earned his 7 million, and it is a wise move to take it now so that he can progress on with other ventures. I’m sure he’s still MORE than happy with his 35 million shares!!!! What a pension investment that is to have!!!! Patience IMHO
Think on this... wtf use are diamonds? But still we treasure them. My guilty pleasure is the plastic crack known as Star Wars figures. Tiny bits of plastic, but each one worth thousands, way more than their weight in gold. Many nations have treasured gold for over 5000 years - that ain’t going to change, no more than we are suddenly going to stop desiring diamonds. That’s humans for you :)
Going by Sandeeps’s update, that they have basically already started development, how long do we think that it will take to get to production now? We already have Telfer, so we don’t need to build that side of things. Looking at the Lassonde curve it usually takes a couple of years, as stated previously 2-3 years, but this looks like it is going at break neck speed, starting the ball moving even before the feasibility study is complete - that’s how confident he is in this being a mine. It’s exciting :) Any thoughts?
