I suppose the way things have been with RSA recently any day that is not "bad news" is good news or has "bad news" become the new "norm" and everyone is just getting used to it.

IC have a sell rating out today for RSA on divi concerns. It was also discussed that the thin cover in Ireland might be found in other areas. However, progress on premium rates looks broadly positive and suggest that suitors such as Aviva, Zurich Financial and Italy's Generali have been mooted but still look expensive. IC are a bit of hit and miss IMO on their recommendations. SP up slightly right now so I will be sitting on my hands with this one for now awaiting news from the PwC report.

Hi madrugada,I don't really know much about Simon Lee but there is a growing voice for him to be pushed out. Maybe he has been unlucky or the right man for the wrong time. He has to move quick or the pressure is just going to grow and grow. The big boys will help decide that issue if the board don't act first. Although it was the board that put him there in the first place. The divi cut was obvious, why was it done badly in your opinion? Apart from AV who else do you see wanting to buy this? It might add support to the SP even if it just a bit of smoke to start with.

1-3% moves tend to be market noise IMO. Sounds like were following the same road with this. The Fool had this pegged as a contrarian buy. They were going to buy when it reached the bottom ................ only they didnt say what that was. See you at the next crossroads

MaoWombat, I may be joining you to avg down and the divi would be quite high on a yield basis. One for the Dogs of the FTSE! Of course if things don't improve in the short term, we could be having a third go around. 94 - 96p ish for next top up. They need to get the PwC "good news" out soon but might offer some opportunities in between. Now if its bad news ................................... Whats that saying about profit warnings coming in three's (not necessarily in the same week though! ) Really, I think I should be taking more off the table, positioning for a bit of a correction but you never know whats the right thing or getting the timing right. Might miss a santa rally!

Being the only sizable UK insurer, in my view is no great game changer. There is not much UK growth even though UK plc is getting better hence its move into other areas/markets. Not much margin in the UK either. The main attraction is the 7% yield but cover is not great and its been rebased already. It "has" to turnaround and with a bit of good luck (weather) combined with some good news (Ireland sorted). Speculation on a taker over may persist but I cant see any real signs. Then again if I were intending a take over I would keep my cards very close to my chest, allow it to drift lower and announce it on a bad day so as to seem like some shining knight, coming to rescue all those poor shareholders.

Hicks ref your comment "But the existing shareholders have to vote on it" I think many would, just to get their money out without significant loss and newer holders could make a gain. Not sure what the large holders would do though. I think they might be more tempted to give them time or push for some board changes.

Agreed but now its 25% cheaper, so adding on a "bid premium" you can now buy it for the price its was when you were looking at it originally. Although I don't think it would be the price that makes this a deal it would have to offer the buyer a better fit, cost savings or access to different markets. What that saying "Who lives in a house like that?"

SREI continues to improve and now hopes to grow too. Not too sure about focusing on London properties, is it not a bit of a bubble? Talk of future equity raising instead of debt which is not expected to dilute shareholder value. Divi not increase but expected that after the recent re base lower. The new team, which will get a couple of board changes soon seem to be on track. Voids down, NAV up, EPS up so on track. I will repeat my statement that this will be a hit for me once they are able to grow the divi, its getting closer but its not "just around the corner" I suspect that growth may come at the expense of an increase in the divi, in the mid term at least. Happy to hold, top up on any dips! As always DYOR!

£2.3m per MW is on the high side, I think TRIG paid just over £1m per MW. I know the feed in tariffs were rather generous hence all this hoo ha! on utility bills. I may have to take a closer look at what the various companies are doing here. I would hope the been counters have run the numbers and that the subsidies and environment (which governments could change) would make this a risk worth taking. Then again its a lot easier to run risks with someone else's (shareholders) money, after all the BoD will still be handsomely paid when the SP is 80p. Worth monitoring that bit closer

Despite some tenants hitting administration TCSC has reallocated usage and is coping well with the downturn. It is pleasing to see voids at lowish levels or changes of use. Some good news going forward too so overall continuing nicely. Always handy to get some 25 year contracts. Maybe the low bank rates do have some uses, seems to be helping here. Buy on the dips!

I've been told its time not timing in the market. I don't really pay much attention to the brokers unless you have paid to see all the information you dont get the full context plus there can be vast differences in them all. It is nice to get some bias to support your way of thinking though. Might wait a couple of weeks to see if this falls further to mid ninties to add my next lot although if more bad news comes out with more tapering fears we might be looking at a bargain. Of course it could also go the other way and drift back up when news is not half as bad as expected. Hows that for fence sitting. Overall we should be ok long term

It wasn't me, just something I read. Sorry I cant take credit here. It does keep bouncing up and down but keeps missing my entry point. Might have to start smaller dabbles on weakness and see if I can avg down or just keep watching and hoping. I would not be a concerned holder and longer term you might be grinning a lot more.

Why not, S&P were "slow" in the past. Slow could even mean wrong! Now they have to be more on the ball. RSA has problems and has lost money. Until this is clearly understood and the risks identified its easier to err and move down wards and negative watch means it could go lower depending on what more comes out. RSA have done a lot of increased business but it not much kop if its additional loss making and exposes them to potentially more claims which are not covered by policy income. Management have to get this sorted. Can this team achieve it? If it just a blip ok. The SP is down in a bull market, how will this fair when the bears have their picnic?

Considering there is to be a greatly increased number of holders, via VOD, not much going on in here. Was hoping to get some insights from others on if its worth holding or selling up. Would a uk listing make any difference to holding if it stopped the 15% US tax on income?
