A much extended mine life was always the plan, the original concept was a 5yr open pit with transition to u/ground, tho that feasibility was always unproven.
It now seems likely there will first be a MLE based on a larger, deeper pit first, mb incl satellite deposits, with eventual transition to u/ground after a few years. Given the expense of going u/ground I surmise that implies several years u/g mine life on top of the pit extension. In toto, then, perhaps another 7 to 10 years?
BUT...bear in mind those years will see higher AISC (trucking, tunnelling, etc) and afaik the tax holiday ends after 5 years, unless MLE/u/grnd is treated as a new project for tax purposes. Questions for Segunn next time he presents, perhaps.
But long b4 Segilola expires THX will have at least 2 producing mines in Senegal + Cote d'Ivoire, if all goes to plan.
