It won't be overnight, existing installations need to come to the end of their life and be decommissioned which will then be replaced by the likes of RedT and renewables, so it will be a steady uptake for the next fifty years or so. I reckon that Hinckley will be seen as a massive folly in 10 years time, totally unnecessary when you consider it only provide 7% UK baseload for the price of it, you could get a hell of a lot of tidal, solar, wind generation and storage technologies for the price of it, dare I say more than 7% of the UK's needs for the price of it, not to mention decommissioning which never seems to figure in these massaged nuclear budgets, AIMHO of course
