Netanyahu’s reaction to Hizbollah’s electoral success in Lebanon yesterday should sound alarming warning bells about what is coming in the region.

Not sure that an unchanged rate will mean the SP goes up. Higher rates mean better margins for the banks. Markets do work in strange ways though. I’m sure it’s just a matter of time before we’re above 70p however, given better news on the horizon and continued buy backs...

Certainly Chester. Oil has spiked today on the back of Trumps decision threatening world economies let alone the threat of war in the Middle East. That will have an effect on all share prices including Lloyds Bank.

Trump wants to tear up anything he wasn’t involved in whether it’s Obamacare, trade agreements, nuclear deals, Middle East peace treaties etc etc. He’s no doubt a good deal maker, but he’s a liar, an idiot on guns, building a Mexican border wall etc etc. He’s a maverick who I’m not sure is the best person to be leader of the free world.

I’m sure Netanyahu is in the thick of all this whilst John Bolton wants Iran dealt with militarily so Trump is treading a tightrope with his gamble. I don’t think the Shia countries in the Middle East are going to be the pushover North Korea was. Dangerous times.

It would be nice to think there is becoming a squeeze on sellers to UBS. If there is they’ll have to hike the price up to attract them. Maybe wishful thinking.....

My fear about Trump apart from his ridiculous support for the gun lobby and his obvious lies about extra-marital affairs, is the man he has in his ear now over foreign affairs. John Bolton was one of the architects of Gulf war II and is a dangerous warmonger. Now this deal has been torn up by the US, Israel will be given carte blanche to go after Iran. With all the Middle East fallout that will follow, markets may well crash.

I’d put my mortgage (with Lloyds naturally) that you’re right LTI. I would think it’s a bit like blocking people on your phone - if you’ve blocked them for a while, you’d never be able to retrieve what came your way. Maybe this site is different, but I doubt it......
