Seems to me that DCB let his guard down a while back and many seem to remember. I’m sure I read he’s of Irish descent living in the UK. The trouble is going back through hundreds and hundreds of his monotonous posts to find the incriminating evidence. I can’t be bothered....zzzzzz

The buybacks may well disguise the new shares being issued to pay for director bonuses and employee share schemes. I’m sure that was in the thinking by the board. The fact remains that the share price at the end of the buybacks will be approx 1.4p higher than it would have been without them. I’m ambivalent towards them. It does enhance shareholder value. You’d be better off complaining about them at the AGM than whingeing on here to be honest.

(1) I have no idea - that will be down to the market-makers who price the shares but it will be approx 1.4p higher than it would have been had the buyback not taken place (2) I have no idea what price it will be if it’s not around the 65p mark. I’m not a clairvoyant sadly.

The issuing of more shares for director bonuses and staff share save schemes etc has diluted the share capital slightly but the fact remains that when completed, the buybacks will have enhanced the share price by approximately 1.4p assuming the share price stays around the 65p range. Approximately 2.2% of the shares will have been taken out of circulation due to the buybacks. #blueinthefaceexplainingthisnow

No one is arguing they don’t livestock. We are both making the point that the amount of shares being cancelled through the buyback equates to approx 1.4p per share when the buyback is complete.

1 billion pounds buyback divided by market cap of 46 billion multiplied by share price of approx 65p = 1.4p The maths really are extremely simple.

The buyback so far has been worth 1/2p a share. Hence without it, the price would be 1/2p lower. In this trading range aeound the mid 60s, the full buyback will be worth 1.4p a share when the billion pounds has been spent. It is a trifling amount and I’m not sure why it keeps being trumpeted on here as a massive event that has gone wrong.

Sadly he’s doesn’t go away KK. He’s a monotonous, boring stuck record with nothing original to say so he just provides links that back up his narrow-minded stance. He’s desperately clutching at straws as he can’t believe his side lost a democratic vote and he naively thinks there’ll be another referendum. I’ve got news for him :- in the words of Nigel Farage “it’s not the best of three.” When Brexit goes through and he realises all his time on here and the forums bandwidth has been wasted posting his cr*p, he’ll have to find something else to occupy his atom-sized mind.
