Maybe investing in a company not exposed to the UK following Reeves' employer NI tax raid, will prove to be master stroke. I suspect companies doing business in China, Asia and Africa will fair better going forward.

This decision is inconsistent with VOD's goal to consolidate the business by reducing size and complexity. It's sending the market a signal that the BOD is behaving erratically. I mean there's not even a good sales pitch to explain their reasoning for this potential acquisition. Margherita needs to start earning her corn by doing a much better job of promoting this failing business.

Well, at least Jefferies are optimistic with their starting forecast of £1.70. And from the budget, the NI hike will not help but at least the APD rise was not as bad as feared. It's a nightmare holding this. The BOD are clearly completely incapable of enhancing shareholder value. I occasionally get bouts of optimism but they don't last long as the sad reality of a stagnant and now reducing shareprice, hits home. "Awful" is the only way to describe this company at the current juncture and the silence is deafening. The BOD should be making every effort to talk the company up until more substantive news arrives, hopefully in the shape of ratification by the CMA of the 3 tie up. What else is there to look forward to?

Hopefully this will be the last ever Labour government. How many times does it have to be proven that socialism doesn't work and always weakens the economy?

Indeed robleo. Is a company with EBITDA of more than €11 billion only worth €19 billion? Using my basic understanding of numbers, it seems a tad undervalued. I know we have the debt problem but that should become more manageable as interest rates fall and it's over a very long period so doesn't need to be repaid, anytime soon. Maybe I'm being naive but surely this company is not at fair value and so should correct at some point. I'd take 90p!

Britain and its businesses are now at the mercy of activist judges. This appeal ruling on motor finance is obviously perverse. It's absurd to expect car dealers to disclose how much commission they are getting on PCP contracts etc. The customer should decide if the deal is affordable and make their decision accordingly. Most people assume there's commission involved but make the deal anyway. If more lenders now withdraw as Close brother's have done, car sales will collapse and consumers will suffer. Well done the appeal court.

The macro picture has way too much influence on the SP here. it's already been decimated despite a credible and achievable growth plan being, so far, successfully pursued by the company's management. Brokers clearly believe in it so why not the market?

Very encouraging. Things seem to be moving in the right direction. Now we need the shareprice to do the same. On another point, it's a pity there was no October update this year. I suspect they're waiting to see what impact the budget might have on future business, given the likelihood of an APD increase.
