I don't know why the IMO didn't just focus on emissions instead of fuel right from the start. That's surely the purpose of the regulation

Sorry but almost 2 years is not impatient. The resolutions needed to be passed for us to proceed. They didn't get approval the first time round which has added to the delay. Some say they've mentally written this off, and so maybe they don't care if it's delayed even more. I want my money working for me and the only way forward was getting the resolutions passed. It's an argument that can go on forever, but it's done and we're close to re-listing. Then we'll all have the real choice of what we do next, sell, hold, buy, whatever

No it's as simple as chucking them all in a tank and blending. The residues are first tested at QFI's facility for suitability and presumably to get the ratio's of chemical additives right. The speciality chemicals are supplied by the joint owner of the IP, Nouryon. It's all put through an MMU (MSAR manufacturing unit) which is a bespoke piece of kit that does all the atomising and mixing. The result is a stable fuel that can be used for marine propulsion or for power generation, and most likely many other applications

MSAR® is a low viscosity oil in water emulsified synthetic HFO. It is manufactured using proprietary technology to mix heavy residual oils with small amounts of specialist chemicals and water to a bespoke formulation. The resulting emulsion contains approximately 30% water and less than 1% chemicals. The emulsion is a low viscosity liquid at room temperature, which makes it easier to handle and reduces the heating costs for storing, transportation and use in comparison to HFOs.

In addition, the hydrocarbon droplets are pre-atomised within the emulsion and are significantly smaller than the droplets formed from atomising HFO; this means that when used MSAR® burns almost completely, leaving virtually no particulate carbon in the exhaust and making it more environmentally friendly.

I'm not disagreeing that this funding situation is not going as well as we were led to believe. I think that RNS was hastily put out and worded very badly indeed. And yes, if we're going for equity based funding now, it will probably cause more dilution to existing holders. For the record I'm not happy about that

But, as far a we know, nothing else has changed regarding the future prospects, and whether or not QFI will obtain one or more contracts leading to commercial success
