Interestin g points Matterhorn, I hope further analysis by the company now exposes what if any factor protocol violations played.

Ref the final violation listed, I remember the media highlighting this in a number of places where surges overwhelmed hospitals, e.g. in India and NYC during the height of Delta wave. Needless to say, no Covid trial, including our P3, was performed under normal circumstances. Instead we had a pandemic where resources are plunged into chaotically short supply or even withdrawn. It therefore stands to reason that protocol violations could play a bigger part in our P3 trial. Be interesting to know more.

To add to my response below about drug that got approved by FDA without meeting end points - that should not give false hope, but it does absolutely prove that nothing should be written off until the data is fully examined by the regulators and scientific experts involved in decision-making. We are nothing more than "Armchair experts" in this period...

Yes you could have a drug that failed end points but got approved by FDA.

Here's a very recent example:

To your question as to whether Polygon could assist in facilitating this process by selling their holding to an interested party, I see no reason why not, IMO. That is what they did with GE in Sweden, and on another Asian engineering? firm? type deal, from memory. That assumes they take that route, but they don't always do so.

As for the rules governing the process of a buyout, they can, and routinely are, circumnavigated by clever lawyers. I look forward to hearing from Management with input from their advisors. Once all the facts are known, we will have a basis from which to move forward.

To your other point TLW, I agree, I have little doubt that most retail investors would be in favour of any developments that would restore their loss of capital following last Monday's unfortunate results, but not for some paltry offering like 45p. The BOD, their advisors and their bankers will be getting a good handle on what worth can be salvaged here - I think it prudent to await their input before lurching from one disaster to the next. Knowledge is power.

Of course they did Xv. They are a HF specialised in catalysts, half of which may be negative events like this. This is their bread and butter. They will have had multiple irons in this fire, opposing strategies, loss curbing plays, IMO. THey will have done plenty of DD. Newbies they are not.
