RE: Buys double the sells24 Nov 2021 13:07
@lekka
What Darren means is, if you sell the stock, someone else buys it - either a market maker or someone else (I don't know if RMM is quote driven or order driven, someone help me out).
In that sense, buys and sells HAVE to be equal.
What people on here generally mean when they talk about buys and sells is CLIENT buys and sells. Assuming most of the trade in this thing is on RSP, any trade which lifts the RSP offer would be considered a client buy, and trades which hit the RSP bid would be client sells. In that sense, they don't have to be equal. Of course, every time a client buys from a mkt maker, the mkt maker sells the stock - so if you look at it like that, buys and sells are by definition the same.
