Polygon will take they can get. What they can get is unconnected to what they paid. Polygon’s average cost has no bearing on the value of the company. Don’t imagine that Poly can squeeze more out a deal just because they paid too much for their stock.

I don't think that's right. Worst case scenario the drug cannot be shown to be effective, Big Pharma have no interest, company burns through cash and folds worthless.

It would be irresponsible not to at least partly hedge

As @Cornishknocker said, there has been too much "jam tomorrow" with this share. The thing that will get it moving is proof that it can make money. That will be demonstrated by positive financial results.
I think last year full year results came out around the end of April. I’m not sure, however, that 2021 results will be much help since most of the good stuff will be quite recent.

I’m sure that there is no chance at all that our major shareholders would accept a bid at the 9/10p level. (Which is 30%+ anyway)

I think that our major holders, who have just put substantial backing behind HZM’s journey to production, would only sell out to a very aggressive bidder. I think a bid would have to be very high to succeed.

Your efforts to get these things higher are probably having the opposite effect. I appreciate what you say, but itt might have more impact if you said it less often, and perhaps in a slightly less breathless way. Sorry.

No reason why it should be just one II seller. I’m sure there are plenty of bored/impatient PIs too. There might be a bit of stock to come out around the placing price too.

Of the 3 crappy AIM stocks I hold this is the one I have most faith in. The difficult bit is done. It's a relatively straightforward build.
I also expect it to re-rate but I think it might take a while. I'm prepared to wait.

I'm not saying that they are looking for an immediate exit. The fact that they have been adding to their position suggests that they see something worth holding on for. All I mean is that their average cost price is unlikely to be a consideration in what they do.
I mean, if people think Poly's average is, say, £1.25, they should not therefore expect Poly to refuse to sell at any level below that. If someone at some stage bids a £1, and Poly thinks that is the best they are going to get, they will take it.

They will be looking to exit at the best possible level. If it turns out the best possible level is below their average in cost they will take it. Their average cost is of zero relevance to any buyer
