No offence to your mate Mouse, but the chances of Provi getting their SOA over the line is more like 9% not 99%. Just cos Hamish has sent out a memo internally.to calm the troop means jack. Hamish is under investigation both at Amigo and now Prov. The announcement of the SOA is tactical to try and put the spanner in the works for Amigo and also an attempted slap in the face for the FCA. They wont support the scheme as stated and without that the judge is way less likely to sanction it IMO. With Amigo i m not sure the FCA will publicly support but they may also not actually block it. The biggest differnce between Prov and amgo. You never ever pick a fight with the FCA and win. Hamish will discover that in due course.

Who's forcing the FCA lol?? The Supreme FCA?? Darth Vadar? God?? what a twerp!! The Guardian article is entirely smoke and mirrors by a journo to create some content. You call up an MP and ask them to put their name against high cost lending and dodgy loans and bingo, there's a campaign against Amigo. Or martin lewis "is against" the scheme. Or "our sources say" lol...I m amazed people have allowed a newspaper article to influence their investment decisions!!!

True seamus. I think where courts go the two soas are clearly seperate. FCA will also look at each onw on its merits and jsut cos they allow one doens t mean they are duty bound to allow another. We have whats called first mover advantage in my opinion

At least the article flags that the FCA is to blame. Always screamed incompetence from them and they will know it. Providents scheme is nothing like as generous as ours which can only help.

It is worth emphasisng that the negotiation at least in part will require more going into the pot from future lending and as part of that we will ask for lower future lending restrictions..there are various inter-related themes playing off each other and i believe the FCA will go to the nth to get the balance right which is fine by me. This is one big behind the scenes political negotiation happening its just for investors its a big pyscho-drama. All will be fine.

Well I can clear that up for you Kopite. The reason is because I don't like to see people sell their golden tickets and be physcologically bullied into selling. Long term holding and being neutral or negative don't seem obvious bed fellows??

Chill Sharebel..not even Martin Lewis wants Amigo to go bust. He was also misquoted in article. He is asking that the,FCA ensure fairness and we are cooperating which means negotiating. We will make more concessions FCA will then say this isnt ideal but we won t block it if customers want it and then the narrative will start to change. Lots of folk peeing their panties here lol. Its clearly getting sorted in background so just ignore all the negative fools and realise the long term value you have.

Toger- the vreq from last May was raised by Hamish Paton who is now under investigation at Provident. The initial approach and vreq was before GJs time abd on Hamishs watch last May. Don t know if that particularly matters but even if we have treated the odd customer unfairly it doesnt stop the need to make an SOA work. Surely we ve done right with Covidplans and payments for the vast majority you d think so therefore feels like a bit of theater to me. But what do i know.
